1971 Datsun 1600 Race Car & Custom Car Trailer
Body - this car is in very nice condition with no rust and is nice and straight. She has never been involved in any accidents as a road or race car. Please be aware that she is a race car and has been one for a long time and is not a show car in concourse condition.
Suspension - what you would expect with adjustable front struts and 3.5deg camber. The rear has been modified with 1.5deg toe in to stabilize the rear on exit.
Brakes - VT Commodore front disc setup and 240k vented drums on the rear.
Gearbox - Nissan Pintara 5 Speed.
Engine - L18 bore out to 1998cc, nice head with double valve springs with matched 45 Webbers.
Diff - LSD with a ratio of 4.66.
Overall this car is a pleasure to race. It has been very reliable throughout and has always provided me with trouble free race days. The engine runs beautifully, has never overheated or missed a beat. I only take it to 7k and always use fresh synthetic engine oil for every race meet. I can finish 15 laps at Philip Island flat out, turn engine off and she has always re-started straight away if required.
This car is cams approved with logbook.
Car trailer has been custom made for this car and is very easy to load/unload and tow. It comes complete with a tool/storage box, winch and new light truck tyres.
The car is running at the 6 hour event at Philip Island this weekend the 2nd & 3rd of Aug so can be viewed in action. I am happy to show the car on the Saturday (prior notification required) and can only be viewed in action on Sunday.
