RARE FORWARD LOOK 1958 DESOTO FIREDOME BARN FIND COUPE

Here is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a Super Super Rare 1958 Desoto Firedome coupe . Its only the second 58 Firedome Coupe in Australia . You can get 57 or 59 Desoto , but the die hards know the 58 Is the Elusive one !
The 58 Desoto is deemed by most to be the Ultimate and Most Glamous "Forward look " Winged Warrior . These cars were way ahead of their time in styling and engineering .
This car still runs its original 361 V8 295HP and 3 Speed Torqueflite , the first year of the normal and standard Big Block Wedge motor (same type engine as a 413 and 440) with simple spin on oil filter and this car has ball joints , so nothing is weird to repair or maintain on this car .
For those who don't know 1958 was a recession year and the 57 Desoto had many warranty claim problems leaving many cold to purchase a new one the next year . Hence not many got made in 1958 , even though they rectified all the faults of the 1957 model .
So to find a Coupe in any condition is extremely hard to find now.
This car is a true barn find and has been sitting in Los Angeles backyard since 1973 due to a faulty rear brake problem . The car is a great reference car as everything under the hood is how its meant to be with the rare little brackets and the like all untouched .
If you would like an unmolested car / Project and don't mind doing metalwork this would be a fantastic base for something amazing . It would make a great custom car or restore back to original . The thought of working on such a well styled car is enough to make you warm and fuzzy !
Ok the car is all there and not missing anything to my knowledge except the hubcaps ,it has some rust in the usual spots that these do , but as its been a west coast car the chassis and surrounds are nice a dry . Its need the interior and chomework all done and will require a full restoration . The engine nearly fires , but with some more effprt I am sure it will run .
I have a spare pair of Tailamps , Tailamp Towers /surrounds, a spare radio , a clock , a new pair of outer Sills and other bits and pieces that go with the car that are in the trunk .
You could look for years and not find another 58 Desoto Firedome Coupe , so if you are keen come on down and it could be yours !
