Description
1967 Dodge A-100 Van with pop up camper top. This top is from an aftermarket company called Freeway Traveler. I found some literature online and it was a company from Elkhart, IN. You could choose your options for the top and picked a local distributor in your area. I would think this conversion was most likely done after the van was purchased. The top pushes up with handles from the inside. The top is still in good working condition, opens and closes easily. The sliding windows work. I've washed the van and did not have any leaking inside. This has the electrical and water port on the driver side. I would think that this would have had a stove, sink and refrigerator at one time. Entire rear floor area is solid and rust free. I do not know when the van was painted. It's not perfect but it cleaned up well with some compound and wax.
This van is ready to drive and enjoy. Compared to most of the vans the need heavy rust repair and mechanical work, you'll be ready for cruises and shows for next season.
Videos of the van running can be seen on YouTube by searching 1967 Dodge A100 van test, drive test drive 2, idling on driveway, radio working. They were all taken today 11/17/18.
Clean California title in my name, currently registered, current tags and plates
318 engine (1970 block) 727 automatic transmission, 8 3/4 rear with 741 case
Edelbrock 1405 600 cfm 4bbl carb sits on a later model cast iron 318 intake (4095080). Vintage Holley valve covers
Tires: 225/70/15 Tires are Big-O brand with very good tread, almost like new.
Van has good power, shifts well, steering is tight. All doors close properly.
Dual Flowmaster mufflers turn down just before the rear end
Seats are from another car, I don't know the model. They are bolted down but are still a little loose. They need to be bolted on one of the rear mounts. The seat belts are there.
Working:
Head lights, tail lights, turn signals, radio, wipers, horn (sometimes), heater/blower
Missing: Cover for master cylinder, battery box top, key for doors.
Cons/needs work:
Drum brakes work but system may need to be bled and gone thru again to make perfect.
Speedometer bounces but odometer works.
11/17/18- I filled it with 16.4 gallons of gas ($69.00) until it stopped. Fuel gauge registers 3/4 full.
I had a small oil spot on the driveway and I think it may be coming from the oil dipstick tube. It does not seal well in the block.
Rust issues/dents:
Van is very solid overall. The spot on the windshield A pillar is the worst of it all but it does not go all the way thru to the inside. I stripped this down with a disc so you can see it. The entire front floor is solid with the exception of the edges of the driver and passenger foot area. -- The step area on the driver side has some small holes.
- One small hole on top of the rear wheel tub.
- Rear corner bumper area is dented as you can see, along with the rear are where the bumper would have been mounted.
- The roof rails are perfect, no rot. Entire rear floor area is solid and rust free.
- small rust bubble on driver and passenger door
