PERFECT BARE BONES START FOR A VAN LIFE ADVENTURE!!! SO MUCH STYLE!!! SCOOBY DOO!!!!
Here we have an 8-door - 1968 Dodge A-108 long bed van.
Originally sold on December 21 1970 for a tune of $2801.07 at $61.12/per mo. for 36 mo. to a Mr. Allan Carlock.
- 318ci V8 motor with a 2bbl Carburetor (engine rebuilt at some point by the widow, according to the widow)
- 3-Speed manual transmission (“3 on the tree”)
- 8 3/4" rear end
The 8-Door Van is rare enough on its own (they only made about 700 per year), but this one is a cut above.
It comes with the original sales receipt from Dodge as well as nearly all of the registration cards, showing it was a single owner until I purchased the van from the owner’s widow in 2012. Also included are the original manuals and official warranty packet.
This van comes with the rare 3rd front seat which is mounted to the lid of the engine compartment (aka “The Doghouse”).
A True Survivor, This van still has its original factory paint, which cleans up very well with a wax job and some elbow grease.
I have driven this van under 500 miles since I purchased it. I drove it from Santa Cruz to Sacramento in 2014 where I stored it for 2 years and drove it back to Santa Cruz where it was stored once again.
The windshield is currently cracked, but it will be replaced before sale.
"This Van was his Baby, he had it before we met and we travelled the US in it after we got married". According to the widow, The owner was a racing engineer that also had 1/1000 Factory Electric Start Ford Model A's that was sold to Jay Leno.
Currently on Non-Op, no back fees.
Put in a new battery and some gas, and you can drive it. Though I recommend Bringing a Trailer, since its not Registered for the Street.
A Very Rare true original patina find!
