Description

For the MOPAR fan who knows what they are looking at.
Rare car..few were built and very few survive. Many were utilitarian and used well as this one was. Some were surely scrapped and many had the drivetrain replaced and/or were converted to clones.
I bought this car from the original owner. He and his wife drove it until her passing 3 yrs ago and it has been mostly sitting since. He gave me the original keys with key code rings and dealer tag, the window sticker, the build sheet (what's left of it), the owners manual, some factory papers and his original sales contract. I have the old registration and a color copy of the "pink slip" that had to be surrendered to DMV. The title is clear and car retains original CA blue plates. Car was purchased at a local dealership that is still in operation and has never left the area.
The car was loved and used. They were quick to solve any problems encountered and it was a faithful companion. I was given a pretty good stack of receipts. I ran it up to operating temps and let it run a while and got NO smoke from the oil filler cap.that it telling of how well it was maintained.
I'm hoping a collector will value the rarity and opt for a restoration vs alteration.
The car has pretty much been stored under my ownership. I work on antique and Classic cars for a living and am getting to where I don't know if I want to do any more cars for myself.I do enough for work. I'll probably be looking for another MOPAR..maybe a '63 B-body bigblock car that is pretty much donea driver.
Some of the options:
-J01 Light group.including the cool fender mounted signals.
-G31 Right side mirror.
-G33 Left side mirror
-J15 Cigar lighter
-M05 Door edge mouldings
Original price: $3219.70..I'll take 10!
The bad: The car was not abused, but well used.
-My understanding is that the left fender was damaged in 1987 and the dealership was able to locate the part and install.the whole car was painted at that time. I can tell the fender mouldings were all removed at that time and a bump strip was installed along the sides. This rare strip could be removed and sold to buy mouldingsif one cared for that much detail in the restoration.
-The original radio and gas cap are not present. A modern radio was installed and the gas cap was replaced with a locking version..sign of the times. I've installed a silver painted cap as the locking one is a hassle to remove and looked terrible.
-There is rust.cars do rust even in SoCal. The usual spots.truck and rear quarters. Small spots seen on the right A pillar and base of rear glass. All of this is par for the course and can be repaired when the body is stripped and paintedas done in a true restoration.
-Front seats cloth inserts are dead..as is the headliner and the usual dash pad cracks.
-The usual stuff including wear, minor dings, scratches and chips.
With that.still a great car that can be spruced up a little and driven or give the full treatment.
Even though the Deputy model was the bottom of the pack.it is now a rare Challenger and therefor not dirt cheap.bid accordingly.
I can send pics and/or talk on the phone with serious buyers..esp if they have a MOPAR they may be willing to give up for this one.
I can deliver in the SoCal area or help with loading the car to be sent..wherever (inside the US)
