Description
Attention: All of you Dodge & Mopar lovers alike, the special machine that you are looking at now is certain to put a huge smile on your face!
‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is proud to offer you this absolutely beautiful 2009 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak car, #11 of 100 built! This car is absolutely awesome folks! In 2008, 40 years after Dodge introduced the factory built ‘Super Stock’ Hemi Barracudas & Hemi Darts, came the proclamation: “It's 1968 all over again as Chrysler announces the 2009 Drag Pak Challenger.” The return of the Drag Pak car was a huge hit among racers, and the 2009 program saw a sellout of all 100 factory-built vehicles within two days! This example is #11 of 100, and has undergone a meticulous build using only the best racing parts available. Starting w/ a stock Challenger body in white, Mopar engineers removed nearly 1000-Lbs of equipment deemed unnecessary for the race track. Although the Drag Pak cars rolled down the same Brampton, Ontario, assembly line as the street cars, these models were spared the addition of body sealer, sound deadening, ventilation system, airbags, and rear seats. If that wasn't enough, Mopar removed the windshield wiper assembly, side and rear impact beams, and subsequently, any chance the car can be D.O.T. certified for street use. As a result, these Drag Race Package cars weigh in at approximately 1000-Lbs lighter than a Challenger SRT8. The Challenger Drag Pak car does gain some new equipment, including a new composite lift-off hood (functional of course), polycarbonate windows, manual rack & pinion steering, a lightweight brake system, and good old-fashioned cable throttle linkage. Mopar also modified the Challenger's wheelbase, shortening it ½” to 116”, and pushed the engine mounts rearward for much better weight distribution.
This particular Drag Pak car #11 is equipped w/ a Ray Barton 6.4 Liter 660hp Race-Hemi w/ 10.49 compression ratio and an AEM Infinity Programmable Engine Management System, backed by a Torqueflite 904 3-Speed Automatic Transmission w/ a Cheetah 3-Speed Shifter, Line-Lock, and an ATI 8" 6300 RPM Stall Converter. Additional equipment includes a Dana 60 Rear-End (4.88 gear ratio), Dual 16-Volt Batteries, an NHRA Certified 6-Point Roll Cage, and 3” Deist 5-Point Compact Quick Release ‘Y’ Style Shoulder Harness/Snap-In Lap Belts. Overall condition is ‘mint’ throughout, and w/ only 6 test runs done on the car, she is basically like new. The white paint and Mopar graphics are likewise in ‘mint’ condition, as is the interior and engine bay. All of the electrical components are in perfect working condition as well.
The new owner will receive all of the original factory parts, original manuals, and all of the detailed build invoices from day one. Reminder: these cars were built for drag racing only, and are not D.O.T. certified, therefore they are not legal for street use. These Drag Pak cars are sold on a ‘Bill of Sale’ only, and do not have a title. If you are searching for a rare Mopar factory race-car, the first to come from Dodge in 40 years, it would be very hard to beat this absolutely beautiful 2009 Dodge Challenger Drag Pack car!
