Description
Up for sale is a 1970 Charger 500. I just
purchased this car a few weeks ago from what I believe to be the second owner.
I tried to buy the car about 14 years ago when I was looking for one, (I have
since bought one and restored it,) so I didn’t really need it, but when the
owner said I could buy the car now I just bought it. The car was sitting
in their garage for the last 15 years, it may have been started and moved a
couple times a year for the last 15 years but not much more then that. I
believe it has been a southern car its entire life, the car has had some body
work done to it and a respray back in the mid-90s. (Not the greatest work but not
too bad) the floors and frame are solid; the trunk needs to be replaced because
it had a rubber mat in the trunk that trapped the moister under it causing it
to rust. It has a running 383 Motor with a 727 Tranny that I believe to be
original, I will confirm that with some more photos this week. The tranny
shifter and valve body have been changed out to a manual valve body. It is a
A/C car but the compressor was removed years ago, it was a factory power brake
car but the booster went bad and they removed it, (I have the booster they took
off), It has long tubes headers, new tires, newer gas tank, new fuel
pump and a new Carburetor on it, The seats where redone a few years ago Car
runs and drives, It could have an intake leak because the car won’t stay running
at an idle, I just drained the old gas out of it and put some fresh gas in it. It’s
a nice 47 year old car for the money, with a little work you can start driving
the car to local car cruise-ins, I’m going to put new plugs and wires on it
this week and try to track down the vacuum leak so the car will stay running
under 2000 rpm’s, I’m not sure if I’ll have it fixed before the auction is over
but I’ll try, If you have any questions feel free to call or text between 8:00
am – 9:00 pm Eastern time. Thanks John 86four-four 2 three-two 56 one, This car
is being sold AS IS, I encourage you to come look at the car or send someone to
