Description
1969 Dodge Charger SE 383 / 727 / 8.75 rear
My vision for this was a Joe Dirt Daytona, but I just don’t have the time. The 383 is original based on the code on the pad behind the alternator. Originally a triple green car but repainted the exterior yellow at some point. All interior/exterior trim and expensive or hard to find interior pieces are there. Wood grain dash would clean up nice. The dark green dash pad is in awesome shape. Steering wheel is wrapped with leather, it may be well preserved under there. Original seats. Center console car. Original sticker under trunk lid. Been off the road since 89’ according to emissions stickers, and I believe this. It rolls fine on and off a trailer. Original AC car.
All AC tinted glass looks good. Windows roll down well. Doors shut very nicely. Original headliner coming down. Front grille looks to be in great shape. No fender tag and I haven’t pulled the back seat for a build sheet but it may be there. The fender tag may be hidden in the car somewhere too. Original plastic twilight cover bezel from trunk is in there. Missing lock cylinder for trunk, must open with screwdriver. No keys for ignition or doors. Needs floorpans, lowest rear quarters, sail panel roof patching, and most of the rear underside metal work (as the rear quarters and trunk are rusted). Also needs new fuel tank, straps, sending unit. The front side is pretty solid overall. The 383 engine had the fan, water pump, pulleys, radiator(larger version), and distributor pulled at some point but the engine looks original. I haven’t tried turning it over but I planned to soak the cylinders and prime the oil pump prior to turning.
Other notes:
99% Complete, other than the mentioned engine bay parts and what’s rusted away.
Hood bows in the center when pushing down, but it can be pushed flat.
Front hood latch removed, not sure why.
No radio
Original AC car
Interior should clean up nicely
Looks to be all stock wiring
Aftermarket cruise was hooked up at some point
100’s more photos Available. Just let me know
Cassettes in photo were in the center console, and all were pre-1989!
No headrests as this was a late 68’ build and headrests weren't required until cars manufactured on 1/1/1969 and after. I have another 69' Charger with the same scenario (NOT FOR SALE)
Clean title in my name. Selling as is. This is a project and must be towed. The tires hold air, it steers fine, and it rolls fine on and off a trailer. It is located on a property where you cannot get the full semi truck with multi car trailer, but there is a shopping plaza nearby (about a mile) where you could easily load it onto one of those. Buyer will need to pay for a quick rollback tow to have it picked up by a large transporter. Otherwise a truck with single car trailer would be fine to pick it up where it sits. The rollback tow was about $100 last time I had to have a car moved there for pickup.
Must pick up in Knoxville TN. Feel free to contact me for a phone number. Non-refundable deposit.
