Description
We are a long standing restoration shop in Conroe, Texas. We
bought this desirable 62 Dodge Dart 2-door post car from Alabama for a customer
with the intent to restore, however customer lost his finances, hence this
auction with a realistic reserve considering its overall condition and
new parts we bought, which are included, see below.
VIN 4127114409 DECODES:
4 =DART 6 CYLINDER
1 = 880 MODEL
2 = 1962
7 = St. LOUIS PLANT
114409 = PRODUCTION SEQUENCE
Dodge Dart’s 2-door post cars are getting harder to find as these were the beginning of Mopar muscle drag cars with a 413 V8 Cross Ram intake. These cars were among the fastest cars produced in 1962. This car would make an awesome Max Wedge clone.
Currently it has a good running 400 V8 with rebuilt 727 B&M floor shifted transmission. The car runs and drives off a gas cell, but not street able as it needs exhaust pipes from the manifolds on back. Power drum brakes work. All 4 manual windows work.
The winning bidder has the option to buy a period correct rebuildable 413 block & heads, at extra cost.
Overall the body is in very good shape for its age with very little surface rust underneath, with solid frame rails, etc. the doors “click” closed without effort. It has a functioning hood scoop. There’s one small hole in driver lower quarter about the size of a half dollar.
Has rust through in floorboards and trunk but new 62 Dart correct AMD formed sheet metal floorboards included for front-rear cab, and trunk with floor plug kit.
Car has rear tubs with an 8 3/4 rear end; consequently rear bench seat is missing as are the trunk hinges but good used hinges included.
Overall the car is in very good shape; but needs restoration to include interior upholstery, stainless trim repair/polishing; minor body work and paint. Hard to find, and expensive, front turn signal lenses and trunk lid end spears are included.
Several OEM or new aftermarket parts are also included such as a front disc brake conversion kit, door windlace seals, window felts, windshield gasket and clips, gas tank with mounting strap, filler neck, rubber seal, ground strap and sending unit, complete set of 6 white face gauges including tachometer.
A non-refundable PayPal deposit of $500.00 due within 24 hours of the end of auction with balance by wire transfer within 7 days. Car released when funds clear bank account. PayPal also accepted if winning bidder pays fees.
Sold AS-IS with Bill of Sale only; in Conroe, TX 77301 – 1mile off US105 East at I-45 North. NOTE: EBAY DOES NOT HAVE A BILL OF SALE SO MARKED AS CLEAR
Can put you in contact with broker to help arrange transport to final destination in lower 48 at winning bidder’s expense.
