Description
You are bidding on a "barn find" 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 340. It was taken off the road in 1978, in good driving condition, with 74,845 miles on the odometer. It was disassembled and stored in a non insulated, dry environment. The Oregon title is free and clear and in my name. This Dart came from the factory in EV2 "Hemi Orange" paint with a black vinyl top and black interior, 275 horsepower 340 CID engine, 833 HD four speed transmission, 3.55 sure-grip 8 3/4 rear end, front manual disc brakes, rear drum, power steering, am radio, factory tachometer. Bench seat with headrests. All the original, numbers matching drivetrain is included in this auction. Pictures show most of the pieces, all as they were when removed from the car. Engine and tranny numbers match the build sequence number on the fender tag and broadcast sheet (broadcast sheet is not all there, but does show main build features). For the purpose of selling this car honestly, I make no guarantees that every part on this car is present. It has been in a shop on property where I reside, so I have kept track of everything since the early 80's when I married and moved onto the property. I purchased the car several years ago with the intent of a full restoration, have decided to part with it. I got all the parts together in one place (this was not one of those "bagged and tagged" disassemblies, though everything was in boxes and away from mainstream shop activities). Original engine/transmission and periphery parts are there, except for the original carburetor, air cleaner, and one engine mount (currently has two mounts, though not sure if one will work, as 340's had unique mount on one side). Differential is a 741 case, 3.55 sure-grip with cone style posi. All the emblems and trim, interior and exterior, appear to be present. Hood scoops, hood pins, 340 emblems, scoop trim, brightwork present and in good condition. Seats front and rear, seatbelts, shoulder belts all there, currently in the car. Inner and outer roof rail trim, kick panels, door panels (fronts have speaker holes, will need replaced), are there. There are undoubtedly some fasteners, screws, nuts and bolts, missing from the parts that came with the car. The fender tag/broadcast sheet indicate the car came with full vinyl top, black stripe on the rear, full wheel covers, am radio. Not sure if the car had the chrome exhaust tips as the fender tag has both N41 and N42 which seem to contradict one another (see picture of fender tag for decoding). I do not have the exhaust from the car, other than the original exhaust manifolds for the engine. I have two rally wheels on the back of the car currently that will go with the car, along with the standard 14 inch wheels and original hubcaps. Front manual disc brakes, rear drums. Front sway bar, heavy duty rear leaf spring suspension. I believe the previous owner added super stock springs, though I haven't verified this. I coated the entire floor pan with POR-15 a few years ago, as it had surface rust and I wanted to ensure no further rusting would occur. The car did not get undercoated from the factory, so the underside is sprayed with a rust converting primer to protect and prepare it for further detailing. This car has some rust out areas in both lower quarters; the right quarter is worse, extending into the wheel lip, with the trunk extension having rusted out at the bottom as well (pictured is the worst of the rust in lower rear passenger quarter). I have replacement sheet metal for everything already cut off another car, in good condition, including entire right quarter panel, inner wheel housing, trunk extension. I have left quarter panel replacement sheetmetal for lower rear quarter and broken door striker post (in the form of most of a back half of car). Left door has some minor damage, previous owner removed glass, regulator, wing window, window channel to work on it (Left door parts are with other boxed vehicle parts for reassembly). Left door striker has had previous welding and is broken, will need repair (see Picture, and description of replacement sheet metal above.) Overall the car is very straight, front clip is excellent; the vinyl top is in good condition, other than some curling on the back edge behind the window, no rust bubbling showing under vinyl. Buyer will need to make provisions and pay for shipping of vehicle and and all parts associated with restoration and repair (if you want everything that is). This will require picking up the car and all parts pictured, plus a full passenger quarter panel with inner wheelhouse and trunk extension, partial back half of car with full driver quarter. I will assist with logistics, provide pictures of all extra parts involved, so you have a good idea how to haul it. $2000.00 of vehicle purchase price due at time of purchase, remainder to be paid within seven days of purchase. Car and all parts included in sale must be picked up within 30 days of final payment. If you are not sure you can meet the details of this deal, please do not bid on the car. This is an as-is sale, there are no returns, guarantees, etc. You will be given any detail prior to the close of auction by asking further questions. Thanks for looking.
