Description
1968 Dodge Dart GTS.
Substantially Restored Real Dart GTS.
Original B5 Blue car from factory.
340 c.i. Engine
Automatic Transmission.
3.23 Limited - Slip rear differential.
Front Disc Brakes.
Bucket Seats
Automatic transmission with column shift
Body is straight. No rust issues. Repainted in stock color. Bottom of vehicle repainted and detailed also. Black bumble bee stripe added--car was stripe-delete from factory. Paint shows a few blemishes. Very, very presentable. All glass is good. Bumpers are rechromed.
Interior from Dodge factory was medium blue--I have switched that to black. No pieces were painted/dyed, all parts were black from manufacture.. Original (and Uncracked!) black steering wheel. All new NOS dash gauges and switches. New carpets, door panels and upholstery. New door and window seals. Radio is in place but non-operational.
Engine is not the original to this vehicle. Engine IS a date-coded 1968 340 block with original "X" cylinder heads. Fresh $8000.00 rebuild on motor. Motor has 237 miles since being re-installed. Direct Connection cam--Purple Stripe with solid lifters. New AVS carburetor. Have original 1968 AVS carburetor--needs restoration. Runs like new.
Torqueflite 727 automatic transmission believed to be original to this car. Column shifter. All stock.
Rear axle is a rebuilt 8.75 inch model holding 3.23 gearing with limited slip. All new Disc Brakes up front. New Hellwig sway bar up-front. 10" drum out-back. Not power brakes. Wheels are original 6.5" wide rims, (including spare). Jack is in place.
New rear leaf springs and shackles. All new steering and brake components up front. New steering box, center link, ball joints, center link, etc.. Moog suspension parts. KYB gas shocks. Hellwig sway-bar up front in stock location.
Complete new M and H wiring harness installed. Factory-style electronic ignition. Gen 3 Alternator with electronic voltage regulator. all new bulbs and headlights.
Correct fasteners were used throughout car during assemble (almost $2000 just in fasteners).
I put this car together following these parts priorities guidelines:
First choice: Use NOS wherever possible.
Second choice: Use High-quality used and refurbished where possible.
Third choice: Use the best reproduction parts money can buy.
One could not build this car for $50k plus labor ( I know first-hand.) Most all is new--no corners were cut. Get in and drive.
If you have questions and/or require further pictures, please contact me and I will be happy to supply additional information.
