Description
My Father, Marvin Soderberg, purchased this car in 1978. He started a full restoration (see black and white pictures) at Boyd and Gordon Body Shop in Oakland, CA. At some point, Dad sold the car to Tom Gordon and he completed the project including the upholstery, a full engine rebuild and an incredible paint job. Tom and his family drove it in Alameda, California for many years. In 1994, Tom was moving to a smaller home and offered the car back to us. We purchased the car and drove it locally in Georgetown, CA. In August 2012 we had $1,500 worth of work done. This included boiling out the fuel tank, flush lines, fuel pump, rebuild carburetor, new plugs, new battery, new headlight gaskets, new windshield weather strip, oil and coolant change, adjusted brakes and added an auxiliary electric fuel pump on a momentary switch for priming when cold or after storage. Car has the "silent starter, all gauges work including speedometer (accurate?), odometer reads 47,384 (accurate?) starts easily, tires not new but low miles and all including spare in good shape, great paint and fantastic upholstery. My Father was an "old car enthusiast" and haunted auto swap meets for over 50 years. Also offered with the car are the parts for an original top. Framework, bows and rear window which were acquired "along the way at a swap meet." (see two pictures)
