Description

Up for auction I have for sale our 1947 Dodge pickup. We used this as our farm pickup for many years and have always kept it in running condition. It was used in parades a few times over the years but it is now time to find another home. The engine is a flat head 6 cylinder and runs very well. The transmission and rear end are good as well with no unusual noises there. The hydraulic brakes are no longer working. We did hook the emergency brake up to the brake pedal so it could be stopped and that has worked well. The gas tank was removed sometime in the past and a gas tank was installed in the box. I did remove that and put just a 2 gallon tank there for now (see pictures). The body is fair with a few dings and dents from use over the years. I don't think there is any rust through anywhere. The ignition was changed over tot 12 volts many years ago and all the lights, generator, heater fan motor etc were changed as well. A push button starter switch has replaced the old foot start pedal. The glass is all there. The side windows have some cracks, the windshield is starting to delaminate around the edges. A heater control out of a 58 ford car was added when the system was converted to 12 volts (see dash pictures). The tires all hold air but are not very good. There is a spare tire and wheel included. The wood on the box floor is all there but is not the greatest! There are no leaks other than the hydraulic brakes, that I could find. The cooling system holds coolant and has antifreeze in it. The charging system was working but the regulator did stick a couple of times and drained the battery so I just disconnected it from the battery. This would make a nice project as it is complete. If you have any questions please email. I prefer local pickup but if shipping is needed I will assist with loading etc. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!
