Description
Extremely Rare - 1980 DODGE ! TON {b300} wide body van conversion ordinal owner. Meets all U.S. government regulations.
Ups: rebuilt 360 cubic inch engine with Edelbrock carburetor approx. 33,000 miles; rebuilt transmission, approx. 53,000 miles; brakes and Michelin load rating E light truck tires in very good shape; recently replaced mufflers and tailpipes [dual exhaust]; Generac 3.75 variable speed generator [approx. 780 hrs.]; 2 six gallon propane tanks; Coleman Mach 3 roof air conditioner; heater; hot water heater; bath and shower stall with ElectraMagic toilet [door to bath needs new latch] sink; microwave oven [getting weak and will probably have to be replaced in the not to distant future]; 3 12 volt 8” fans; variety of lights, closet and cabinet space; areas of carpet in good shape but linoleum in kitchen is peeling; coded ignition to guard against theft.
Downs: assorted panels and door panels need to be recovered ; bad spot in rear paneling; no working dash A.C. ; at some point some repair and restoration work needed on back door; due to water leaks after market windows sealed with silicone and do not open. They need to be removed and new putty tape applied; 15 x 15 sun window in upper bunk needs new gasket; original horn foam worn out [ I still have original pad] horn has been replaced with a big button on the steering wheel; right turn blinker does not return to the neutral position automatically; in Cold weather ignition key does not spring back from starting position so you have to rotate it back manually.
Conclusion: Body paint in good shape but is starting to peel some on the hood; fiberglass roof is peeling; piece missing from lower front grill, I still have the section [see photo] I hate to part with the old truck but the time has come. A great van for someone to nurture and give the “Green Apple “ a little TLC.
P.S. Very recent front end inspection. Checked out O.K. for an extra $300 you can have the 10 x 18 carport. I’ll throw in a 100 ft. 10 gauge land line extension cord. For a little more research into these rare vans google The Wide One Corporation.
