Description

OK, tired of storing dad's car he left us so it may be time for it to move along for someone else to baby sit it that will keep it in it's present driver not restored condition as seen. It has been in the family since late 70's and stored inside most all of it's life accept when racing it so only rust is under the Rear window bottom trim and some Small spots of JUST Surface rust here and there were paint has gotten thin down to the red primer but solid. None in the trunk accept for around the battery just a little corrosion but solid. Unbelievably solid body but as you can see, paint is mostly flaking, thin, deteriorating and well aged some spots down to original primer but Original accept for some old touch ups!!! The top is patchy blue as most All the paint has worn down to the Original red Primer. It sat so long their in the shop that the max exhaust rusted off and ended up on the concrete so it couldn't be moved any more, for about 30 years as a matter of fact.
So after it was left to us to baby sit it, we finally gathered it ALL up and ALL it's motor pieces that were sitting around for it from it's last race and had the motor completely rebuilt after it's last badly needed refresh. We had it done by an older engine builder (Somers) that was around and use to rebuild the 426 max wedge motors from racing back then and was familiar with the parts they use in those motors as we wanted it done with quality first and foremost. While we were doing that we also had Mr. Mopar Howard Loren rebuild the front end including having him put heavier 11" brakes all around on it as it had 10", clean up and paint parts as needed, and undercoat the wheel wells to give it a fresh clean look. We also had him rebuild the push button Automatic Trans as that was his Specialty was Mopar Transmissions not to mention his Quality Work!
Vehicle is in VERY good original solid condition and has not been molested. ALL the original motor part numbers are correct right down to the 330 crank, 886 rods, 730 block, 518 heads and 3705 carbs and so on we were told. Not sure what stuff dad replaced among the racing years so their may be parts he changed too make it better or faster, there is a electronic ignition unit he put on right side inner fender with wiring but never hooked it up so it still has the original dual point distributor in it with no vacuum advance. There was a new Mopar cast iron electronic distributor in the trunk that must of been reserved for that task. Also a complete 1964 426 hemi intake, holley carbs, linkage, big air cleaner and miscellaneous parts for something he had planned that we sold to a old racing buddy of his to finance the cost and labor to get the 330 back on the road.
The engine builder also put a roller cam with self oiling rollers, bushed the lifter bores as he said they were worn out and bored it 40 over. Line bored and squared the block. He also lowered the compression and balanced the assembly. It does probably run better then it ever did in it's early life.
We told the engine builder to take out some horse power to make it more drivable for the street but it still uses a lot of fuel just going to the store and post office. When we put fuel in it we use 5 gal race fuel and the rest 93 Clear Premium goes in it and it still has too much horsepower. We drive it close to home every couple of months to keep things greased/oiled up. The power is just plain crazy. Vehicle doesn't leave till it's paid for in FULL and/or cashiers check clears. Deposit holds vehicle for 14 days and is not refundable. Needs to be paid for within 14 days or by the time it is picked up unless other arrangements are made a head of time for an extended payoff period. We may give someone more time to get their funds together if they need extra time. Auction May be canceled at any time IF their are No bids on it at the time. It will be available locally to look at when this auction starts.
I can't seem to load any more pictures and I can't figure out how so IF you are Seriously interested, I can send them so just ask if you are a serious buyer. Also something most important is NO Mice have ever been in it as dad had ALL the interior in the Loft for all the years he raced it and it didn't go back in until we got it back on the road about 12 years ago. Oh did I say No Mice and Surface rust ONLY accept for lower rear window channel. Solid, Solid Body!!
(((The guy that wanted the wheel base center to center and number off the transmission and water pump does have some X's on it in the aluminum. I'm sorry as I tried to return your email but it was nonreturnable so here is your info in case you check back----118 1/4" wheel base----and the best I could do on the transmission number is the picture I added as the exhaust is in the way and just couldn't get a good pic, hopefully you can get something out of it but it looks like 2464426, sorry. Thanks)))
(((Well I got your email again and again when I tried to email you back your email is nonreturnable but here is the info you ask for. The numbers on the rear under side of the leaf springs best I can make out look like #2495061 for the Drivers side (left) and #2495060 for the Passenger side (right) however their a little hard to read. Drivers side has six plus one short, so Seven total & Passengers side has six plus two short ones, one being just a little short than the other so Eight total as the two are only half springs going toward the front only. The Drivers bottom spring is only half a spring also going toward the front only. Hope that helps ya. Sorry for not being able to return your email but I tried!))) 12pm-9pm PST 503-816-5334
