Description
Dodge Power Wagon M37-B1. Just replaced the original 62-year old rusted out fuel tank with a new 24-Gallon Stainless Steel tank, installed new fuel pickup and new sender unit. Added rubber strips to tank (under support straps) to prevent any rubbing or chaffing on the new tank, see pictures. Manufactured new support straps for tank - tops and bottoms - both sides.
Runs great - 4wd functions perfectlypoint it at something and it will probably crawl it. Original 230 CI - I6 MOTOR - rebuilt about 2,000 miles ago. INCLUDED IS THE ORIGINAL US ARMY SERVICE MANUAL AND A FULL CATALOG FROM VINTAGE POWER WAGONS.
Installed two (2) brand new deep cycle batteries - July 2021 (yep, still the original 24VDC system) lighting system is original military so it's not currently set up to drive on public roadways.
Standard M37 had spare tire in bed area, this model (M37-B1) carries the spare tire on a swing mount at drivers door.
Passenger side has the Jerry Can mount and original (not rusted) 5-Gallon Jerry Can with filler cap (they used to call them donkey di#cks - remember?).
We have a lot of fun explaining to a lot of our Jeep buddies that it's the Dodge Power Wagon JRV Model (Jeep Recovery Vehicle) - it's pulled more than one 4x4 unit out !!
