Description

This '58 Dodge comes with the original 315 Poly engine, NP420 transmission (granny plus 3), and NP205 (divorced hi-lo) transfer case. It also has a PTO from the transfer case that runs the winch. Once used as a utility communications truck, this is a heavy duty vehicle with 4.89 differentials and a low range that just crawls. The engine runs, it starts reliably, but the brakes need work (wheel cylinders need replacement). One of the two previous owners added power steering and although there are some questionable connections the wiring appears to be in good shape. Headlights work, turn signals work, and brake lights operate. It includes a new master brake cylinder and comes with the factory hydroboost brake system on the firewall. The front and rear axles do not appear to be original and were likely replaced at the same time that the transmission and transfer case were serviced. The engine does not appear to leak, but does have a lifter that is occasionally noisy until it pumps up. The transmission and transfer case appear to need a new front seal. The differentials do not leak. There is limited damage to one or two cross members beneath the bed from pulling a heavy load. The original wood bed has been completely covered with diamond plate. The window regulators are present but not working. The heater and wipers also work. The body appears to be in really good shape due to undercoating throughout the truck. There is pinhole rust at the bottom of the driver door. Some early Chiltons type manuals are also included. This is a northern California vehicle that spent much of its life on a pecan farm.
I will be happy to assist in loading onto a transport, but shipping is the buyer's responsibility and is NOT included in the price.
A $1000 deposit will be required within 24 hours of a winning bid, and will hold the truck for ten (10) days, after which the deposit will be lost if payment is not made in full. Payment in the form of a cashiers check for the balance due will be required before the truck and title are released.
This truck is sold as is, with no warranty of any kind.
I reserve the right to end this auction early.
