Description
1979 DODGE D-200 PICKUP TRUCK
This is an old retired forest service rig. It runs nice and has a solid body to use for restoration. It's a perfect truck for a 4x4 conversion and maybe a 12 valve cummins. The body has some rust but less than most I've seen. I'll detail all that below. I have a file with undercarriage/floor pics I can send also. Clear title in my name. Thanks and happy bidding. If you want to do something early on it message me. I'll also take less money for it without the 318. I know many buyers have a cummins in mind and I could use the 318, but either way is fine.
MECHANICAL
This pickup has the 318 V8 with automatic transmission. The engine runs nice and transmission works good. I have only driven it fast enough to test all the gears. The pickup will need new tires and shocks. There are no knocks in the engine. It starts right up. I'm sure it should have a tuneup and fluids checked and all that good stuff before driving it. This pickup would make a nice one to build as a 4x4 with cummins, or whatever turns your crank.
INTERIOR
This has the original, very plain interior. It needs the seats recovered and a carpet at least. I think some reproduction hard parts are available also. All doors open/shut properly and I believe the windows all function properly. Nothing is missing I don't believe.
BODY
The body has several dents as you can see. Nothing that will be too hard to straighten out. It does have rust in the floorpan. I guess they make floorpan repair panels and full pans if you want to go that way. the repair panels should be much easier and faster. The transmission tunnel has no rust. The floor rust is primarily on the drivers side. Passenger side is just starting. Here is what doesn't have rust: The rest of the cab, the frame, box, tailgate, fenders, inner fenders, doors, door bottoms, roof, driprails, cowl, hood, jams, sills, rockers. There is also no rust above the doors, or above the windshield. Inside or out. Besides the dents and the floor rust, the body is a solid truck for restoration. Montana doesn't salt like the midwest. I broke the rear window out on accident. They are readily available online and inexpensive.
OVERALL
This old truck is sold as-is. Thanks and happy bidding.
