Description
I am very excited about this car. It is a 1983 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole. Better yet this car is a "European" car (very few made it to the US) making it the most desirable and collectible of all the 308 series. Below I have included some information that explains why this car is such a stand out car and so different from the US version. In short, it has more attractive style, smaller "racing" mirrors, lighter, and more horse power. A brilliant classic Rosso Corsa (red) paint with Nero (black) leather interior. At 31 years old it has just over 30,000 miles on it.
Please note the actual VIN for this car is ZFFLA13B000047163 I was not able to put this in the listing as it is a import and ebay system would not accept it.
We're just the second family to own this car. The original person who purchased this car did so in Italy in 1983. He shipped it to the States and about 18 years ago gave it to his son. I purchased the car, from a California broker, in 2009. Soon after I took a job in Europe for 3 years so the car was stored. I've had it for the last 2 years and have had the good fortune to drive it. Now, however I am looking to move back to Europe for a 5 year stay and just don't have the ability to store the car again, besides, these cars are meant to be driven.
The only things we've added to the car has been a chrome shifter, the Scuderia badges, and chrome pedals, actually I've only installed the resting pedal but have the others and will include them with the hard wear.
I also have all the service records for the car. It is scheduled to have the timing belt done. If the buyer would like this done prior to receiving the car I can have the local Ferrari shop do it at cost or you can have it done when you receive the car. The car runs and sounds amazing. We drove this car and never had any issues with it. It doesn't leak and as the report says everything works as it should. If I were keeping the car I would get seat covers. the drivers side is a little faded and probably needs dying.
Other cars in this condition are listed and selling for $47,000+. I think our reserve price is fair and is well under any of that price.
If you are looking for a Barrett Jackson type car, this is not the car for you. It's a clean car and looks amazing for a 31 year old car but it is a car to be driven. I honestly would have NO Problem using this for a daily driver. That said, it would take very little to restore this to a show car.
Please ask any questions you like and I'll try to respond as quickly as possible. I have additional pictures if you like. There is also a car cover but a portion of it was damaged, still covers the entire car but is worth mentioning. We have it listed locally too so may need to end this without notice.

All US market examples were fitted with catalytic converters.
The main European market 308 GTS Quattrovalvole models had a tubular chassis with factory type reference F 105 GS 100. The suspension comprised double wishbones, coil springs, hydraulic shock absorbers, and anti-roll bars front and rear; four wheel disc brakes were also fitted. All models were numbered in the Ferrari odd number road car chassis sequence of the time, with right and left hand drive available.
