Description
This 1979 Ferrari 308 GT4 is finished in red over beige leather and was purchased in 2014 .. It received a full repaint in its factory color short before that. Power comes from a mid-mounted 3.0-liter V8 paired to a 5-speed transaxle. In 2000, the engine was rebuilt after a valve failed. Work consisted of new pistons and liners, new cam sprockets, head work, and new stainless steel valves.
The beige leather upholstery is original, and has never been re-dyed. It shows wear commensurate with age but is free of rips or tears. This is a factory sunroof-equipped car.
All instrumentation are in perfect working condition. The odometer currently shows 22,109 miles which I think are correct based on service records since 2000.
The transverse-mounted 3.0-liter 16-valve V8 breaths through four Weber 40 DCNF carburetors. Ferrari rated US-spec cars at 240 horsepower when new.. This GT4 features OEM 14` alloy wheels.
In addition to the aforementioned engine rebuild 19 years ago, a new cam belt and water pump were installed. Additionally, a compression check was completed short time ago, showing 185, 190, 185, 187, 190, 192, 192, and 190 psi in cylinders 1-8, respectively.
