Description

So Cal Classic Car Storage is proud to offer for sale this beautiful matching numbers 1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 (#7119) that was originally purchased by Mr Bertini in Italy in 1965 per the 330 GT Registry. This 330 is a rare “interim” model, (only 125 were built), is fitted with the much improved late model “hanging pedal” brake system, a five–speed gearbox and two–mount Tipo 209 V12 block. This Ferrari was delivered from the factory with a beautiful light blue metallic complimented by a handsome black leather upholstery and was optioned with disc brakes, power windows and Borrani wire wheels. By the early 70’s this beauty made its way to California where where it was sold to the current owner 9 years . The current owner has kept the car in both Texas and California since for the last 8 years. This gem is for all intents and purposes a California car with one family owning it for about 30 of those years and the current owner having the same pleasure for the last 8 years.
The condition on this car is excellent and no expense has been spared to keep it in excellent operational condition and runs and drives beautifully. The paint and upholstery were re-done to the factory color by a previous owner. The leather upholstery and headliner are in like new condition and were also restored. The paint is nice but is best described as driver quality and still has plenty of gloss in it and shows very well but it is not a concourse quality paint job and there are a few nicks and dings that you would expect. You can see up close that the prep work was not the caliber one would expect from a Ferrari but it was 10 years ago or so that is was painted. The engine compartment is very nice and tidy and looks very clean.
The current customer has gone to painstaking lengths to keep this gem in immaculate running order as he commissioned a complete rebuild of the V12 powerplant as well as clutch and brake replacement in 2016. In 2018 the vehicle had additional servicing including rebuilding of the transmission, distributers and carburetors, replacement of the electric fuel pump, rebuilding of the master cylinder and replacement of the rear axle bearings. All of these receipts are available with the purchase of this Ferrari. Other documentation that comes with this vehicle are detailed hand written maintenance records from 1974 to 1983. All of the gauges work except the engine oil temperature gauge and the passenger power window does not work from the driver side. The shocks at some point could stand to be replaced but the driving experience of this car is excellent. Brakes are outstanding.
The underside of the vehicle can be best described as very tidy as you might suspect from a well cared vehicle but does not appeared to have been restored as it looks pretty original. The original tool roll and a few of the original tools come with the vehicle as well as the original owners manual, jack, lead knockoff hammer, spare tire and roadside flares. Also included are California Blue Plates from the 70's.
