Description
FIAT 118S
OSCA, in the Fiat world there are 2 primary distinctions of hot rods, Abarth and OSCA. Each unto their own are easy identifiable and sought after if it is the real deal. This particular OSCA is something we rarely see in that it has been saved long after the damage was done and can be restored to its former glory or used as a really good parts car. We can restore this car for you (if desired) after the purchase is made. These cars (61 OSCA) can reach a dollar value near to 90K (if done properly). And are valued higher to collectors here and abroad.
Motor parts are rare but they do exist if you know where to look and who to ask. (we know people)
This OSCA is from California where it was purchased new.
Details notable to the OSCA model; 1961 Fiat OSCA 1500 Cabriolet. Dual Over Head Cam 1500 motor, Drum brakes at all four corners, 5 bolt wheel pattern (typically 4 on other Cabriolet models) Nardi wood steering wheel, wood grain dash, centre grab bar, passenger foot hold. This car is still very much all original and thus needs a restoration.
Body; sheet metal on the quarters, doors and front end is solid with no visible rot or serious rust issues. The floors are their but seem thin. Structure of the frame and trus work is very nice.
Electrical, no idea aside from what I can see, looks to be intact with no damage except to the front corner lights.
Engine, 1500CC DOHC seems to be stuck, but complete. Gasket sets are available for $150 if it were to be broken down to free the motor.
Transmission, 4 speed, shifter slides into position with ease. No idea of driving condition.
Bright work, bumpers are semi straight and worth saving. Stainless is there and fair condition. Other chrome is there and in fair condition.
Coach work, needs restoration. I have new black door panels if interested, for sale. Carpet and seats need total replacement in materials fabric.
Glass, windshield is missing. I have one for sale if you need it otherwise they can be found new but not NOS.
Nose, this nose was wrecked obviously, we wish the owner did not cut the nose but they did because they found the replacement sheet metal. They never go to fixing the car. Our assessment is this car could and should be restored.
FYI the red Cabriolet is a 59 1200 slated for a restoration in our shop.
Questions are welcome and will be replied to on a timely basis.
No scammers, people posing as buyers or buyers with no eBay rating, bids will be rejected.
OSCA is sold as is where is. PayPal deposit is acceptable, inquire at win of auction.
