Description
Fiat 124 Spider 2000 Turbo
Up for sale is my 1982 Fiat Spider Turbo. Approximately 700 Spider 2000 turbo models were available only in 1981 and 1982 model years. Fiat USA worked with Legend Industries to install turbo chargers on these models. According to some of the literature that is available, the Legend Industries Factory, boost was limited to 6psi to avoid engine damage, but even with a modest 6psi, the turbo really awakened the two liter four cylinder engine and brought the engine power up to 120hp.
This car shows 80,200 Km on the odometer. Since I'm not the original owner of this vehicle I cannot confirm that this figure is correct.
I have owned this spider for 10 years. During the time that i owned this car, I have replaced many parts to ensure reliability and performance to the highest possible level. Below is a list of items that have been replaced/rebuilt during the time of my ownership.
Engine Mechanical:
- Newly re-built turbo
- Newly recored rad
- New cooling fan and motor
- New K&N cone air filter
- New turbo fuel management switches
- New radiator hoses
- New temp sensor switch
- New cold start valve
- New air aux valve
- New thermo time switch
- New brake booster and master cylinder
- New silicone air hoses
- New gas tank
- New fuel pump
- Timing belt and tension bearing
- Water pump
- New alternator
- All fluids replaced
- ANSA Exhaust
- New clutch
Exterior:
- New canvas top (black)
- Wheels have been replaced with 15" Rota wheels and Falken Azenis high performance tires.
- Cross drilled and slotted rotors
- The proportioning valve was replaced with a new one
- Stainless steel brake lines
- The top portion of the factory gold turbo striping has been redone, identical to the original (replaced due to fading)
Interior:
- Steering wheel has been replaced with a "Super Indy" wheel, smaller than the stock wheel
- Great condition carpeting with fiat carpet mats
- No cracks in any spots of the dashboard
- Center console has been redone in black, over top the original tan plastic
- The rest of the interior is mostly all original in great shape
Overall Condition
- The body on this car is solid
- Paint work looks great and is believed to be mostly original. However, there are some small scratches and minor door dings. Please keep in mind that this is a 1982 model. It is not a concourse trailer queen and will not be perfect.
- Always garage stored under my ownership and taken on numerous summer drives. I drive the car on a regular basis, therefore, expect the mileage to be at least two or three hundred Kilometres higher than what is shown in the photograph.
- The transmission shifts smoothly, and the engine produces good power.
I have described the vehicle to the best of my ability, however with all classic cars of this age, the condition is subjective.
Please understand that the sale is FINAL with the car being sold "as is" and "where is" with no warranty. I strongly encourage a physical inspection of the vehicle from serious bidders or potential buyers to avoid any misunderstanding or representation. This car is located in Toronto, Ontario. Buyer is responsible for pickup/shipping arrangements and cannot make any claims of ownership to the said vehicle until the funds have cleared and are paid in full. I will not be responsible for buyer's remorse or any issues found to vehicle after it has left my possession.
Payment is due in full within three business days of the close of this auction through Paypal.
This vehicle is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction early for a local buyer, only before the reserve is met.
Please do not hesitate to send me a message with any questions about the car before bidding.
Good luck and happy bidding!
