Description
I'm selling my Fiat Punto diesel as it's just not getting used any more. It's been declared SORN for a couple of months while I wondered if I would use it again, but as I don't need the second car any more it's time to find it a new home.
For the sake of 100% honesty, the car has been used by me as a part-time driving school car. Only about a third of the miles have been from lessons as I was working very few hours. Also, if you think that being used as a learner car means it's been thrashed - think again. In reality no decent driving instructor (and I hold the DVSA's highest instructor rating, so I hope I count as that) would allow their car to be miss-used. It's not safe, it's not good for our reputation and with the car off the road we have no income. What it does mean is that the car has been serviced exactly to schedule, the tyres have been changed at the first sign of wear, the wheels were removed and replaced with a spare set of genuine Fiat wheels (to avoid possible kerb damage) before a pupil ever drove the car, the interior has been looked after (it was my office after all), the dog was never allowed in the car (much to my wife's displeasure as she always got to put him in her car) and the exterior was kept clean and looked after too. Between lessons I'm advanced driving qualified and am an ex-Royal Military Police and Defence Police College driver training instructor, so always look after my cars and drive them very sensibly.
Even running back and forwards into town (4 miles there and back) for the last couple of months of using it plus the occasional shopping trip, so it never really had a decent run, it was averaging just under 50mpg. On the run down from Birmingham when I collected it, I was reading about 70mpg on a brand new engine. As it's now a little bit more run-in I'd expect it to do better on a long run, but I can't say for sure as it's never had a run longer than 100 miles since collecting it. Like I say, it's very much been a second car!
It qualifies for zero road fund licence, so no car tax bills to worry about. It's also pretty cheap to insure - I was only paying £250 per year including any driver for lessons and any driver over 21 for social and domestic use.
There are 2 very small dents, one on the top of the front right wing and one on the roof just back from the windscreen, that it picked up from flying debris during a recent storm. I've tried to show them in the photos but they're so small they're very hard to spot.
One of the tyres is brand new (just driven back from the tyre fitters) and the other 3 are nearly new. All have loads of life in them. The alloys are spotless.
CD/radio head unit with added external input lead for MP3 players etc. Steering wheel controls for stereo.
Height adjustable drivers seat.
Steering wheel (leather covered) adjustable for both reach and rake.
60/40 split rear seat.
Loads of storage bins etc.
Power steering has a city mode that lightens the steering for extra maneuverability.
Spec from Fiat:
80.7 MPG (Combined),85 BHP, 1.3 Turbo Diesel, Air conditioning, 15Inch Alloys, Remote Central Dead Locking, ElectricWindows, IsoFix, Trip Computer, Radio, CD + MP3, Leather Steering Wheel& Gear Knob, Dual Drive Power Steering, 3x3 point rear seat belts, ABS, Audio remotecontrol, Body coloured bumpers, Cloth seat trim,Driver airbag, Electric door mirrors, Electronic Stability Control(ESP), Folding rear seats, Front electric windows, Front head restraints, Heated door mirrors, Height adjustable driversseat, Immobiliser, Isofix child seat anchor points, PAS, Passengerairbag, Radio/CD, Rear headrests, Rear wiper, Remote central locking,Side airbags, Steering wheel rake adjustment, Steering wheel reachadjustment, Traction control, Trip computer.
The car was serviced a couple of weeks before I declared it off road, so it's only done just over 100 miles since the service and another isn't due for 2 years (depending on the mileage done).
It shows as 2 owners - me plus a previous owner. In reality it's a one owner car as it had 7 miles on the clock when I bought it, but it had been pre-registered by the dealer so they could make their monthly volume bonus. The V5C shows the garage's own finance company as the first owner confirming this.
Both keys and all documents present.
I'm open to sensible offers, but will simply ignore insulting ones. I've priced the car based on it's age, model, condition and mileage. At the time of writing this there are no other 2013 diesel Easy models with less than 25,000 miles listed on eBay in the UK. Looking from 2012 till 2014 there are still only 3 - the one of a similar price is a whole year older, the other 2 are quite a bit more money (£2,000.00 - 2,500.00) even though one of them is actually the previous model!
The car is in Milford Haven (Pembrokeshire) and as I work from home it can be viewed pretty much any time with a little notice. If you want to test drive it this will only be allowed if you can show me insurance that specifically covers the car (temporary cover for this car, not any car cover on your existing car), realise that it's at your own risk due to being declared SORN and leave a sizable cash deposit. You're more than welcome to start it up, bring a mechanic or arrange a vehicle inspection through the AA/RAC etc. I'm not trying to hide anything, I'm just not willing to risk getting prosecuted for allowing the car to be used uninsured and untaxed. Sorry to sound stroppy, but I know someone who got into trouble over exactly this.
The car is advertised elsewhere, so I may end the listing early if it sells. Obviously if the car sells on eBay I will honour the sale. Please do not bid if you don't intend to buy. If you want to see it first then that's fine, but bidding then trying to haggle the price down (or simply not showing up to collect it) will result in a non-payment complaint.
£500 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of the auction end please, then cash or bank transfer on collection.
UK or Republic of Ireland buyers only please.
No I won't sell it to someone in another country and give you change on a foreign currency cheque, I won't let you have it to sell on commission, you can't drive it to the cashpoint. I wasn't born yesterday - sorry.
