Description

Offering for sale an extremely rare 1963 genuine GT Cortina. These first GTs were bought in to Australia as the highest spec Cortina and to compete at the very first Bathurst', which they won with the 20C car piloted by Harry Firth and Bob Jane .The first Ford to wear the GT badge in Australia. This car has had a full restoration, although not concourse it presents very well. The motor has been rebuilt with a race camshaft, lightened flywheel, balanced, head and valve work and twin webers. The gearbox has been upgraded to a Lotus box, the front rotors and callipers are also Lotus. The engine is not matching number. The suspension has been lowered, wheels are dished steels .The interior has been totally refurbished including period correct seat and door trim vinyl. The AM radio works a treat. This little GT is more than at home cruising to car shows, or would be a blast doing the occasional track day she’s lots of fun to drive. Its full history is available. Pre airflow Cortina’s rarely come up for sale, especially GTs
