Perana Cortina V6

PERANA Cortina V6 The Mark 2 Cortina GT was the first of a series of of cars produced by Basil Green and Ford Motor Co.South Africa. It was sold for $3000 with normal warranty. The PERANA name evolved from sucessful on track circuit racing and FORD wanted to sell performance road cars. This was the predocessor to the infamous PERANA Capri V8. Sold through Grosvenor Motors Ford Dealers this was the fastest 4 door car produced in SA at the time. The PERANA was 64 kg heavier than a normal Mk2 GT but had 60% more power. I believe this to be the first one ever offered in Australia. Rare hard to find GENIUNE stamped BG PERANA cars (even in South Africa). 3.0 Litre V6 engine (rebuilt) 4 sp Lotus Cortina gearbox Salisbury rear end. This car has been painted, engine rebuilt, seats redone. Does require further finishing BUT this is a very RARE OPPORTUNITY to secure a classic investment.
