Ford Cortina MK1 1967 2 Door

This is one of the last Mk1, 240 Cortina’s built before the changeover to the Mk2.
This car has evidence that it was built in May 1967. We know this from when we removed the seats for re-trimming they had a tag underneath showing the date they were installed. We also have the original log book that states the car was first registered in 4 Aug 1967 with all the correct matching numbers. The registration papers shows it being a 1966 due to the RTA not having enough data to confirm the correct date and the old rego papers from 1982 do not have the year model on them. The information could be easily changed but I have never bothered to do it. MKI66C plates will go with the car.

We have owned this car for the past 8 years. It is a 3 owner car and was restored by the previous owner to me about 10-12 years ago. The body is straight rust free and painted in acrylic white. We had the red stripes painted on they are also in acrylic.

The 1500 engine is the correct matching numbers block 40 thou oversize with a lotus steel crank 2737E rods machined flat top pistons to give a zero deck height. Big valve & ported head with twin 40mm Webbers high volume oil pump Kent 244 cam steel rocker shaft and posts.
Runs on Premium 98 Unleaded fuel.

Brakes are GT Capri. We had a dual circuit master cylinder fitted approx 6 months ago.

Gearbox has been rebuilt with 2000E gear set and all gears change nicely, heavy duty clutch, extractors and a mandrel bend exhaust system.

The car has MK1 GT Gauge pod (all gauges accurate and in excellent condition) Console and Shifter.
The full interior has been professionally re-trimmed in Black including the GT console, door cards and new carpet. New Seat Belts front and back.


The car has custom made one of a kind 7 inch wheels made from 2 sets to get the required offset. (These were done by the previous owner)

Current full NSW rego expires 30/10/2014. Will pass any inspection.
