Description
Up for sale is my 1952 Ford Customline Sedan. This is an Australian assembled and delivered RHD 4 door sedan in original unrestored condition, arguably the most untouched and original 1952 model on the road in Australia.
I bought the car in 2008, and it had recently been removed from a long sleep, sitting for forty years in the North of South Australia. You can still clearly see the 1968 SA rego sticker (see pictures)
To get the car up and running and on the road the following work was done in 2008:
New exhaustNew radiatorNew brakesReplaced the tyres with whitewall conventional tyres (cross plys)New pointsCarby rebuildNew uni'sNew rear shocksrechromed bumpersNew water pumpsNew radiator hoses
I am selling this car regretfully as it has just been sitting around not being used, and I simply do not have the time for it anymore along with my other 7 vintage vehicles it deserves a new owner that can focus on sorting out the odd little jobs that need doing on it.
Don't expect that you are coming to look at a rust free car - it is a Ford after all. What it has is original floors, sills, quarters, doors etc and original paint apart from a few repairs here and there 40 odd years ago.
The car has some rust that needs looking at - the LH front floor pan (supplied) and the RH dogleg into the RHR sill (rust repair sections provided). There are a few other minor spots here and there, a few of the body to chassis mounts need attention. All in all however these are minor repairs.
The paint work is showing its age in places with crazing on the LHF guard and bonnet. This hasn't bothered me, as overall the car presents well for what it is.
It is still gracing its original leather interior, with some cracking. The headlining and door trims are also original and in good shape for their age. There are no rips or tears in the interior but it is 63 years old.
The original Sidevalve V8 engine runs well, uses no oil. I tried starting it today and it didn't want to go the battery and/or starter motor needs attention. I will have the vehicle running at the completion of the sale.
The car is currently registered on club rego which is not transferable. The car will NOT be sold with registration or RWC but it does run and drive and could be driven anywhere in SE Qld with minimal work. I drove the car from Brisbane to Beaudesert return in September last year (200km round trip).
Happy to assist with delivery to a transport depot for interstate buyers.
Please contact me via ebay messages if you would like to know more about the car or come and have a look at it. Currently it is in the car port covered in dust - the attached photos were taken earlier in the year when it was last out for a drive.
