Description

This is a ONE TIME opportunity that will never be duplicated. If you love '40 Fords as I do you and have dreamed of building and owning the best of the best this is it. This is the 14th '40 Ford Deluxe Coupe that I have owned in my 78 years. The picture of the finished black '40 is of my last one that I sold last year for $125,000.
Earlier this year I had the opportunity to buy this complete package from the widow of a professional builder who was building this car as his personal car but had passed away before he could complete it. I purchased everything for $26k as I just couldn't pass up such a great deal. Obviously the body, fenders, doors, deck lid and hood are mint and never, ever any rust on this California car. Everything is paint ready. The fenders are mint and have never been damaged or worked on. He professionally installed a new floor as he wanted a flat floor instead of the stock risers. The frame is professionally boxed with a Mustang independent power rack front suspension and a 9" rear end. It is set up for a small block Chevy and automatic. This alone is worth by far more than I am asking but to sweeten the pot virtually EVERYTHING and I mean EVERY SINGLE PART needed to put this car together is included. Even the impossible parts such as a new Drake Deluxe grille, new Drake Deluxe hood ornament, new Drake (correct) windshield wiper towers - just these three parts along=e would be over $4,000 IF you could find them (which you can't). Every nut and bolt, rubber, small parts, running boards, new stainless steel gas tank, all garnish moldings, original bench seat, original dash, new hood handle, new deck lid handle, bumper brackets, and on and on and on. (And, no - I will not sell any of these parts separately so please don't ask.)
Unfortunately, a couple of weeks after I made the purchase I was rushed to the hospital where I underwent a 6 1/2 brain surgery to remove a baseball sized tumor that was diagnosed as stage four cancer. So, I am obviously not going to be able to complete this mint package. My loss is going to be someone elses great gain.
For those lookers who do not know first hand what a truly "RUST FREE CALIFORNIA CAR" is, ask your friends or fellow hobbyists to tell you. This car is going to save someone tens of thousands of dollars in metal work and of course the countless hours and hours of chasing parts many of which can no long be found. This car literally just needs paint and upholstery. This car will be for sale locally so I reserve the right to remove it from eBay at any time.
