Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is enthusiastic to be featuring this 1940 Ford Deluxe 2-Door Coupe for sale on consignment at our Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix. Fords from the 1939/40 model years are known for being one of the most stylish pre-war era designs, with the major distinguishable difference between '39 and '40 being the three-piece grille with chrome center section. The chrome headlight surrounds and hubcaps tell you that this was the “Deluxe" model too, a step up from the “Standard" 1940 Ford. Painted in Black, this stylish Ford has been restored to mostly original specifications and features whitewall tires, split front windshield and the long sloping trunk deck that was a memorable styling feature of these classic Coupes. This car is all Ford too with Ford glass, original radio, original clock and Ford tires. This vehicle has been restored and the owner is representing it as having a “Numbers Matching powertrain, with the 221 CID V8 “Flathead" rated at 85 horsepower for 1940 and a 3-speed manual transmission with “three-on-the-tree" column shift operation. Presentation in the engine compartment is very clean and you can tell extra care has been made to keep this Deluxe Coupe looking as it did when it came out of the factory, or better! Hydraulic brakes were standard on the '40 Ford, which was a significant upgrade from the mechanical brakes that were common at the time. Inside this 2-Door Coupe you'll find a two-tone dashboard and steering wheel, which was offered on Deluxe models only, and a comfortable Tan cloth bench seat. Left and right-hand side mirrors, a cigarette lighter, defroster and gauges with speedometer, fuel level, battery voltage, oil pressure and engine temperature provide some useful options to enjoy. This 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe is an all round classic car and we are proud to offer it in our showroom. [ omitted ]. [ omitted ].
