Ford Mk2 Escort 2 door Coupe 2.0L manual. 2L NOT RS2000, new parts included

1976 Ford Escort 2 door coupe. PRICE REDUCED!!! NO RESERVE!!! Getting hard to find!!! This great little car was a project for our son who has since decided to buy a new Toyota 86 coupe instead. I thought about finishing it off as it is a good straight coupe Escort body with only a little rust in the front floor pans and lots of new parts -it will be an awesome car for the road or track with just a bit more work, but we don't really have the time or space at the moment. The car was complete when we bought it, with a blown 1300 engine, and all parts are included in the sale. Originally 1.3L, but supplied with 2L Pinto ready to install (originally from Cortina auto, was running ok when removed) which now has been fitted with new timing belt, plugs, points, leads, distributor cap, sump gasket, inlet manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket. It has been fitted with an original Escort 2L sump. It also has a nice set of extractors, and original 2 barrel Weber carby. 4 speed manual gearbox from a 2L Escort.  There a number of other new parts with the car (not fitted yet), including new black carpet, new black headlining / roof lining, new front and rear windscreen rubbers, new alloy radiator, new radiator hoses. It has a set of Ghia alloy wheels with good tyres (pic shows a 6"wide steel rim on back which is NOT included -was put on to check clearance). Pictures show the rust in the front floor pans, and the minor panel damage on the door skins - other than this the body is in good straight solid condition, although the original paint is fading, as you would expect after nearly 40 years. The front seats are a bit rough, but he had planned on having them recovered or replacing them with another set of bucket seats.  It will probably need a new front windscreen. The car is rolling, but interior and engine/box have been removed to allow for repair of floors and general cleanup in preparation for the 2.0L to go in.  The plan was to repair the rust, install the new rubbers/roof/carpet/etc and the 2 litre engine and new radiator, and get it registered, then pretty it up later. It is currently in the prefect state to do that; or take it to the next level and give it a respray before reassembly; or prepare it for rally or track.  Located in Wagga Wagga NSW, local pickup only.
