Description

This 1997 Ford Econoline E-150 Sherrod Edition was the family vacation vehicle until it fell victim to Hurricane Sandy.A tree next to it on the driveway came down, bashing the driver side front end ending its use.On the up side, for us, the van nudged the tree off just enough to cause it to just miss the house.A lot of good memories were made in this vehicle. We had plans to getting it back up and running but we just never seemed to get around to it.
As you can see from some of the pictures, there is some water damage to the interior. It is not due to the tree. This vehicle has always had leaking problem with its raised roof.Unfortunately, when my parents bought the vehicle from the Ford company, never informed them that the fiberglass raised roof needed to be waxed every two months or hairline cracks would form, hence the water damage. But the damage is pretty much limited to the head lining and the some parts of the walls. In the pictures, you can see that rest of the interior is in excellent condition.
The V-8 Triton engine only has 89,531 original miles!!The engine and transmission never needed any work, just standard maintenance. Before the tree, the engine and transmission were in perfect working order.I actually was considering putting it into my F-250, but I just don't have the time at this point in my life.
The front two seats are power captains chairs with two more manual middle captains chairs. In the rear, is a power bench seat that with the push of a button, turns into a queen sized bed.I know that the TV and VHS player doesn't work, but who uses a tube television and a VHS player anymore anyway ha,ha,ha.
I need to get rid of it because with all of us the children grown, my parents are downsizing. If I had the time and space to piece it out over time, I know that the seats alone are worth twice what I'm starting it at.That coupled along with ALL the still usable parts, (interior trims, carpeting, engine, trans, rims, etc.) makes it easily worth more.
This van is not currently drivable due to sitting for the last few years.I have not opened the hood since it happened so I haven't put a battery in it. With no power you will need to arrange pickup with some type flatbed vehicle.
I don't even think that the radiator was damaged in the tree fall because I never noticed radiator coolant on the ground, but again I could be wrong.I'm sorry about the unknowns but I am trying to be as upfront as possible on the van so that you know what is good and what is bad because it is an as is sale.
Again, this was used ONLY as a vacation vehicle. So its interior is in good condition for its age. The exterior needs good amount of work. All the added extra exterior fiberglass trim and accent pieces need work. But weather you want to fix up a halfway decent vacation vehicle, need some parts for your Econoline or looking to sell it off for parts, then this is the vehicle for you. The interior still smells as it did the day we got it.
I am relisting this because the last time it was on, the guy who had the winning bid last time, backed out because of personal reasons. So here we go one more time. Dont miss out!!
Happy Bidding!!!
