Description

This is just an awesome Excursion. I looked everywhere for the right 7.3 and finally found it. I bought it locally from a friend who owns a dealership/body shop. It has been a blast to own and drive daily, but my business is expanding and I need a different vehicle to hit the road. If you are looking for an adventure-ready 7.3 where all the big expensive stuff has already been done for you, this is it!
The venerable and much-sought-after 7.3 is stock and strong. It runs clean with no blowback or other issuesthis has been confirmed by 3 diesel mechanics (one of whom is the Ford diesel guru in this area). Just breaking in at 167k and has many, many more miles to go. It has never been moddedthough a 4-inch exhaust, cold-air intake, and tune would make this thing screamor get great mileageyour call.
The body is beautiful. Straight and stable with no wrecks or dings. It has none of the rust issues that plague many other Ex's. I cannot tell you how many of them I looked at that were buyer-worthy except that they were rusting out. This is the least-rusty Ex that I have ever seen. Check out the pics of the underbody. I had a Yakima rack on it and would highly recommend one over the stock setup as it inherently rubs the top like sandpaperbut I've included the stock rack in the back of the truck anyway.
This Excursion is purpose-built to carry you and your family through just about anything. It is a functional beast with over $18,000 invested the following upgrades:
New black paint - $2000New black painted to match badges - $100New black painted to match front grille - $150New MB rims and Nitto Trail Grappler M/T's - $3500New Fabwright 3" lift - $2500New Rancho shocks - $500New headlights - $300New taillights - $200New side mirrors (auto-adjustable from inside) - $250New Rigid Industries LED fog lights - $500New GoLight with dash-mount control and wireless remote control - $600New Ranch Hand front bumper replacement/grill guard -$1500New Ranch Hand rear bumber replacement - $1000New genuine leather seat material (under your butt) - $600New matching Husky Liners floor mats - $500New GEM module - $300New batteries - $300New transmission rebuild - $2500New valve wiring harness - $750
I have 100% eBay feedback for a reason. I treat buyers as I would want to be treated. One of the most frustrating things when I was Excursion shopping was driving forever to look at a "like-new" truck that turned out to be anything but. Though this Excursion is in amazing condition compared to most others out there, it does have some inevitable signs of being 13-years old. In full disclosure, I have taken pictures of all superficial wearI prefer for you to be completely informed and wish to prevent any unpleasant surprises. If you are interested in this truck, please feel free to contact me for those and other additional photos.
In addition, these are the only noteworthy issues that I intended to fix them but never got around to it:
The window function is spotty because the actuators (and maybe fuses) need to be replaced. This is a common problem with Fords of this period and an easy fixmy mechanic quoted me $200 for having them done all way around. The front windshield has 2 substantial cracks and could stand to be replaced. The rear windshield wiper doesn't function properly all the time. Another common problem with Fords of this period and another easy fix (probably another fuse issue). The rear hatch doesn't lock. Another common problem with Fords of this period and another easy fix (local Ford dealership said they could fix it for $50).The screw which holds the plastic steering box together was missing from the beginning. There's currently a little gap which will close right up when it's replaced. My guess is less than $10?The CD player doesn't play CD's. Radio and everything else functions fine. This never bothered me as I never use CD's.No spare tire. It didn't come with one. I intended to roof-mount one but never got around to it.
If you're looking for a beast of a 7.3 Excursion that is still road-worthy, I don't believe you will find many as nice as this. Or if you're looking for an amazing zombie-apocalypse base camp, I don't believe you will find many as worthy as this. A lot of time, energy, and money has gone into it. If you're looking at this ad, you probably already know how rare and special this one is. My goal is for the buyer to take ownership and be pleasantly surprised by its condition based on my information. Please feel free to contact me for anything other than lowball offers. God bless and good luck bidding!
Todd
