Description

Up for auction is a 1968 Ford F-100 Ranger. The truck is equipped with power steering and brakes and has a 410" Mercury V8 coupled to a Warner T-10 4 speed transmission. Rear axle is a 9" open with 3.50 gears. It has been lowered a couple inches, with lowering springs.
I hesitate to use the term "rust free" because this is a 49 year old truck and there is bound to be rust if you look close enough, and this truck is no exception. However, this is a very solid truck. The floors are firm with no rust through and the same for all the body mounts. Cab corners don't show any rust and there is no apparent body sag. The bed floor has the typical surface rust and nothing more. So much for the rustIf you would like any pictures of specific areas, please ask.
The exterior is straight and the paint is decent, with a couple exceptions. There appears to have been some work done on the front edge of the driver's door and the rear of the driver's front fender. The hood is white (should be yellow) and has been replaced. There is a dent above the passenger tail light and another low on the tailgate. The color is light yellow over white, though it is hard to see in the pictures. Most of the paint appears original, and still holds a shine. All Ranger trim and bright work is in place and in nice condition. The bumpers are straight and the chrome is shiny. The windshield trim in not installed, but a new windshield gasket (with provisions for the trim) and the trim are included but not installed. The truck has the bed side toolbox. The lock works and a key is included. There is a full bed tonneau cover and supports (not shown) that go with the truck. There are a couple small tears and one pulled snap that should be repaired before installing the cover.
All glass is good and appears original. Windows roll up and down, with a bit of help, and the door locks and latches work as they should.
The interior is in nice condition. Headliner and carpets are new. The seat is from a later F-250 and has the blankets to cover (hide) the green velour upholstery. The dash pad has a couple cracks, but is in above average condition. The in-cab gas tank has been removed. The factory auxiliary tank is fully functional. The steering wheel is an aftermarket Grant. There is no radio.
The Engine appears to be a 410" V8 Mercury. The block casting is "C6ME". I have confirmed the 3.98" (410", 428") stroke but have not had the engine open to confirm the bore. The previous owner told me the engine was a 428, but without opening the engine up I have no way to confirm. All engine fasteners are ARP stainless. The head bolts are ARP as well, not stainless. It has a mild hydraulic lifter camshaft, Edelbrock performer RPM intake and a Holley 750 vacuum secondary carb. It also has an Edelbrock aluminum water pump and newer radiator. The ignition is all MSD, with a 6AL box, MSD coil and MSD distributor. Exhaust is Hedman headers, feeding into a pair of Flow Master type mufflers, with 2 1/2" tailpipes exiting under the rear bumper.
The transmission is a Borg Warner T-10 4 speed with a Hurst Competition Plus shifter.
Wheels are alloys, in nice condition and the tires are Cooper Cobras. The rear tires appear near new and the front's have well over 50% tread remaining. The spare wheel is a matching alloy though the tire is an off brand.
Odometer shows 97775 miles. Pretty sure it has turned over.
While the truck is usually garaged, it sat outside for four days last spring in usual Oregon spring showers. There were no leaks and no moisture in the cab. The truck is a straight, solid rig that doesn't leak and looks and drives out decent. With that being said, it is a 49 year old truck.
The title is a clear, clean and unbranded Oregon title.
I recommend you, or someone on your behalf, look the truck over in person before bidding. Drop me a note and we can make the arrangements.
I'm sure there are things I have forgot to mention. Please ask any questions early in the auction so I have time to reply. Additional pictures are available, just ask.
