Description

1960 Ford F-100
Very original and mechanically very sound. I drive this truck almost daily.
Since having owned this truck, the money that I have put into it has gone into mechanical items. The truck shows an extremely nice patina, that my personal opinion is, would be a shame to "refurbish". There is surface rust on the bed rails, and rust through in the usual spots (bottom of doors and where the front of the bed meets the box) but all in all this is a very straight unmolested truck. It shows just under 100,000 miles, and I believe that to be accurate (although I can't document it).
It has (I believe) the original straight six engine, and three speed on the column. It's current color is not the original paint, but was an original color for that year. It looks like it was originally solid teal (color seen inside wheel wells and bed and engine), then repainted at some point two tone red/white (also original colors to that year), and eventually to the sage color it is now. Previous paint jobs are now showing through to give it a distinct patina that only time can produce.
Here is a list of what I have done to the truck since I have owned it:
- Rebuilt carb
-Rebuilt radiator
- Complete brake system overhaul (new master, lines and drums)
- new clutch and clutch master & slave cylinders, new pressure plate and bearings
- new front/rear shocks
-new fuel pump
- new pinion seal
- new starter
-replaced rubber lines, hoses, and belts
- replaced choke linkage
- powder coated original rims and installed wide white wall tires to spec and style (pie crust style)
The passenger glass is crackedeasy fix, I've just never done it.
This truck is a throwback to drive. Always gets waves and thumbs up. I'm not sure I would want it as an only vehicle, but the older I get the more I value air conditioning. But a really cool cruiser nonetheless. I'm sure I have forgotten a couple things, so if you have questions, just ask. I'm sure I will regret selling this one as soon as it is gone.
