Description
I bought this truck to rebuild, but have run out of time and my wife's patience. The truck starts and runs good. Several items already done to make it more road worthy as it was in dire need when I got it.
What has been done: MSD electronic ignition (box, coil, wires, plugs and distributor)
new edelbrock carb (650 with electric choke)
new aluminum intake manifold and gaskets
new 3 core aluminum radiator and hoses
new battery
new fuel pump (mechanical)
Engine starts and runs good. no knocking or noises.
New clutch
rebuilt trans
rebuilt steering column (original 3 speed now works properly)
rebuilt 9" rear end
I have purchased additional parts that have not been installed (see the above no time)
front and rear shocks
front disc brake conversion kit (all parts in box still)
new brake master cylinder kit
new brake lines
New cooper tires (the spare is a full size like to rest but no new tire)
All in all I have spent over 7k on getting it to this point not counting the cost of the truck
Unfortunately there is some negative items. The tailgate, cab corners and front hood have some rust. Cab corners and hood can be repaired, tailgate needs to be replaced. The front windshield is cracked. Needs to be replaced. bumpers are so so, needs some general TLC and restoration. Obviously the paint is crap. It looks like the truck was originally baby blue, now it is crappy red. The wood bed needs to be redone.
the truck is solid and drives and runs good. I wouldn't go to far or fast yet as the brakes are crap (hence the parts that have already been purchased). I unfortunately do not have time to mess with it anymore. I can get some additional photos when I go to where the truck is stored this weekend.
Please feel free to text me for any additional questions or photos. I do have a clean bonded title in Texas. The truck originally came from Mississippi which is the reason for the bonded title. Miss didn't title vehicles until 1965 I believe. I had to jump through hoops to get this thing legal. Had to be inspected by the DMV and VIN number on chassis had to match the body (which it did).
Vehicle is currently located at Possum Kingdom Lake outside Graham, TX.
Thank for looking. 940-447-2285 prefer text. Aaron
