Description
Ford F-100.
Great investment opportunity - This is a rare item which will only grow in value
GENERAL Rust free -- spent it's life in Houston TX.Came to Ohio in 2009 and I have owned it since. Always garaged and never outside in the elements (Rain/SNOW). Bodywork and Basecoat/Clearcoat paint were done in 2011.Every effort was taken to keep this project All Ford!Exterior Color: Special DSO order Raven Black which was not available on regular production F100 vehicles in 1972. All trim has been replaced with NOS trim pieces whenever available. Many hours were spent just getting the side trim to line up straight. Other trim parts were purchased from NPD, Dennis Carpenter, and LMC.Brand new LED Headlights and LED Tail Lights have been installed.
BED
All seams were filled and sealed on the sides of the bed.Floor of the bed is over coated with black gloss Rustoleum. Afull size heavymat from Summit Racing is included. The White Tonneau Cover is actually an original 1972 Ford Over the counter
dealer installed part! The is the only one I have ever seen. I will also include the original box with the part number on it.
INTERIOR
Tinted glass (original) and a new Windshield and seal. Summit Racing Tilt Steering column topped with custom Wood rimmed steering wheel. LED Lighting in dash lights wherever else possible. New Dash pad cover. New Carpeting. Copious amounts of Eastwood (Dynamat) sound proofing on floor, inside of doors, cab roof, etc. makes the cab very quiet and rock solid!
ENGINE AND DRIVELINE
Brand New AGM Battery installed. The engine is a stock factory rebuilt "S" code 390 GT FE big block.NOTE: a 390GT is a high strength 390 block with 428 Cobra Jet 10:1 Compression heads, Cobra Jet "S" code Intake Manifold, 4 bbl Holley 600 CFM carb, 428 CJ Camshaft, and Chrome Valve covers.Rated Horsepower is 335 HP. This engine is equipped with Hedman Headers and a full custom Magnaflow exhaust system. And it Sounds Great!A Pertronix ignition has been installed and Horsepower is probably close to 355+! Rear axle ratio is original 3.00 - Recently rebuilt with a Torsen type limited slip carrier from Detroit Axle.
Needless to say, this truck runs VERY well!
ALSO INCLUDED WITH TRUCK
> 4 Mag style hubcaps (Original to this truck) as well as almost new 215R75x15 white wall tires are included as well. I do not have the 15x5 in. original wheels. The last photo shows how the truck looked when it rolled off the assembly line in April, 1972.
> Full Deluxe framed Marti Report - showing there were ONLY TWO 1972 F100 Ford trucks built like this one - This report will go with the truck. This makes the truck Very Rare!
> A Thumb Drive (USB) with all the pictures of the build (Engine, Bed, Exterior, and interior) will go with the truck.
> 1972 Ford F100 Dealer sales brochure, Dealer installed options brochure, Rare 1972 F100 Color chart, and all
available paperwork I have.
> Small Standard Rearview mirrors and mounting pads.
> Original Box for Tonneau cover, CustomAutoSound Radio, Etc.
ITEMS NEEDING ATTENTION:
>Engine has a "lazy lifter" - it comes and goes - I just don't drive it enough.
>Rear window needs a new seal - Doesn't leak but a corner got ripped??
>Transmission will sometimes be a little sluggish on gear changes.
>Hood as two areas that have slight bends in the edge. Body shop says "not too hard to fix"
>Areas on both doors at lower mirror mounting. need holes plugged and area refinished. This is only visible when swing lock mirrors are installed. It came with the large mirrors, so that is what it is wearing now. I will include the small mirrors as well.
>Exterior needs to be buffed. There are several areas that have what must be over spray from what source I don't know. You can't see it but you can feel it. Rest assured there is plenty of clear coat to work with. I had it painted that way!
The above items are what I want to be RIGHT UP FRONT ABOUT. I don't like surprises when I buy something and I am sure you don't as well.
FINAL NOTE: THIS TRUCK NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN!- I have owned this truck for 12 years. During that time I have only driven about 2000 miles to local shows, maintenance, and repairs - modifications.
The truck is being offered for sale due to poor health. Severe Arthritis along with a torn rotator cuff have made my right arm almost useless. At 79 years, the Doc says "It A'intGonna get better". So it is time to let someone else that can work on it, have it, and enjoy it.
