* Factory Ford original wheels, hub caps & trim rings as well as full set of new MICHELIN LTX M&S tires, including the spare.
A brief model history:
1979 marked the last year of the F series bodied trucks which were introduced in 1965. Four trim levels were available: RANGER, CUSTOM, XLT & LARIAT. At that time,1979 FORD model trucks incorporated the greatest use of galvanized steel to that point. These are heavy, solid, purpose built and dependable FORD tough trucks. 1979 was the first year of rectangular headlamps across the truck line. It was also the first year that the EXPLORER hood ornament appeared and a chrome grill was optional.
* Excellent grill, NO breaks in the egg crate, excellent headlight buckets
* Excellent bumper chrome luster, NO pitting, steel rear bumper with Denver Bronco's bumper sticker affixed at no charge.
* The paint is in remarkable condition, interior and exterior. I personally buffed it 4 times1 compound & 3 Liquid Glass polishes after an initial "by hand" compound. I even compounded and buffed inside of the bed. After transporting the truck to Florida, on the day that I buffed it, the daily walkers & cyclists would all stop or comment as the "screaming yellow" paint came to life. (see picture reflections)
* Minimal scuffs and scratches to the truck bed
* Original bottle jack, tire tool, keys & owners guide with service documentation
* Super clean under carriage, engine compartment and door jams (see pics)
* Excellent exhaust
* Excellent brakes
* All emblems are present as well as the door and under hood production info plates
At 37 model years of age, the EXPLORER 150 is in remarkable condition. It looks, runs and drives great! It is a very tight truck. Everywhere it goes it garners compliments and the"thumbs up".
This is a quality UNRESTORED original truck. Drive it anywhere and everywhere with pride of ownership.
This is also an excellent "bugout" truck, and for those interestedyes, it is EMP proof.
In advance of the sale, both fuel tanks were drained, treated and a new fuel pump was installed. Additionally, the truck has also had recent belts, hoses, filters, fresh fluids and new spark plugs.
You are bidding to purchase the F150, not to be the first to "look at it'. Please have your funding in place prior to placing your bid. Thank you.
Please consult with your spouse, therapist, pet or Magic 8-Ball, prior to placing your bid, as I am not running a clinic for the confused.
The truck and I are presently located in S.W. Florida. (Naples, Ft. Myers vicinity).
Inspections are welcome and will be facilitated to the best of my ability prior to the auction concluding.
While I am confident that the truck could be driven home safely to anywhere in America, I do not advocate doing so. Older trucks are just thatold. Miles from home, in an unfamiliar location is not where you want to become acquainted with your "new" old truck. I always sayget it home first.
With that said, if you choose to fly in and drive home, I will gladly pick you up from the S.W. Florida Regional Airport in Ft. Myers.
Transportation and/or delivery is the sole responsibility of the buyer. I will gladly assist in coordinating with your chosen shipper. I can also recommend a reputable shipper for you, if needed.
I have set a reasonable and fair reserve for the truck. It is commensurate with the trucks condition, the ownership history and the very low miles.
DO NOT ask me what the reserve is as I will not disclose it. Bid what you can afford and are willing to pay for the exemplary, survivor condition, one owner, low mileage, unrestored 1979 FORD F-150 CUSTOM Explorer 4WD truck that you see before you.
A $1000.00 initial payment is to be paid within 24 hours of auction close VIA PayPal. NO EXCEPTIONS.
The balance is then due and payable within 7 days thereafter under condition and arrangement made between myself and the buyer. The balance is to be made via a legitimate bank to bank wire transfer, as it provides a documented record or the transaction for both parties. I will NOT accept PayPal for the entire purchase amount, only the initial payment.
Within 24 hours of auction close, it is the responsibility of the buyer to call me directly to introduce themselves and to discuss further arrangements.
If you are "new" to eBay, have 0% feedback or excessive negative feedback, you will need to CALL ME prior to placing your bid and express your intentions. If you do not call me, your bid will be canceled and you will be blocked from further bidding. I do not have a litany of conditions and rules, just a few simple guidelines. Please abide by them. Thank you.
I answer my phone quicker than I respond to e-mails, call me directly with any questions. If you reach my voice mail, leave me a brief message and I will return your call promptly.
If you would like to discuss a "buy it now", call me and present your offer. DO NOT call me and ask me"what's the lowest that you'll take?"
Buyers from the U.S., Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand are welcomed and encouraged to bid with confidence.
eBay only provides for 24 pictures. I have selected pictures that best present a concise overview of the truck. If you would like any area specific pictures, simply request for them.
I am not a dealer, I am a collector/hobbyist. I strive to thoroughly and accurately represent a vehicle and have done so here. Save for the "occupy wall streeter" that purchased a 27 year old family Volvo last year, my eBay customer satisfaction rating would be 100%.
Clear Colorado title in my name.
The vintage truck market is heating up with collector trucks still affordable. The astute collector knows that the best investment in the collector market is an original, low mileage, one owner survivor. One can restore a vehicle 20 times, it is only original once.
This is an honest truck. I am a legitimate seller simply seeking a legitimate buyer.
Thanks for looking, good luck when you bid and don't miss out on the "Screaming Yellow Zonker" !
