Description
1978 Ford F 250 Lariat, 4x4. This truck is a 3/4 ton long-bed with 8-lug axles. It has the factory Dana 44 front axle and a Dana 60 rear axle. Following list of modifications are upgrades from original spec.
All work completed while under my ownership was performed by Just Peachey Garage in East Austin. I have all the receipts from my purchases as well as the previous owner's.
Engine:
• 460 ci (7.5L) v8. The truck originally came with a 400 ci motor.
• Engine was rebuilt two years ago by Patriot Engine and Transmission of North Austin.
• Brand new 600 cfm Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor.
• Has an Edelbrock intake
• Taylor high performance spark plug wires
• New distributor cap and rotor
• Long tube headers
• True dual 3" exhaust - loud, has small mufflers, I don't know which manufacturer
• New 180-amp alternator, voltage regulator, and wiring for charging system
• Red-top Optima battery
• Brand new 3-core Champion aluminum radiator with dual 12" Spawl electric fans on a trinary switch that them to come on when the A/C compressor is switched on
• New A/C system by Vintage Air, installed by Gus's Garage in ATX. Blows cold and has great heat.
Transmission:
• Replaced this past December with one ordered from an online builder
• Automatic C6, 3 speed
• Has a mild shift kit and stall converter
• Factory transfer case, 4-wheel drive works great
• Has Warn manual locking hubs
Drivetrain:
• Dana 44 Front Axle and a Dana 60 Rear Axle (both 8 lug)
• 31x10.50 BFG All-terrains KO2's, with excellent tread left
• 4-wheel disc brake conversation
• Has power steering and power brakes
Interior:
• New Sony head unit, 100-watts x 4, Bluetooth and hands-free talking
• New Kenwood 6.5" door speakers and 6"x9" speakers behind the seat
