Gorgeous Classic Truck 1970 F250 Sport Custom Camper Special
I replaced the old 390 with a rebuilt 460ci motorabout 8 years ago. New c6 automatictransmission about three years ago. New posi rear-end at the same time. All newfront end and steering box two years ago. New tires and brakes at Schwab last fall.
This is the camper special and had the sliderbumper. That was about 600lbs of useless steel.The new campers hang down past the bumper. I removed all that and put a nice bumper on. Then I added air bags for a nicer ride. She floats like an old Cadillac. New dolphin gages and steering wheel. Youcan’t stop for fuel without talking old trucks with at least two or threepeople. She turns heads wherever yougo.
This is an honest old truck. She starts with thebump of a key and runs and drives perfect. I removed the tank from behind theseat. It just felt like tempting fate tohave a fuel tank in the cab with you. So, I removed the aux tank from behind the bench seat, ordered the tankand hole delete kit and had it welded in. Then I had the truck repainted. That’s the only bodywork ever done. I’ve owned this beautiful truck for about fifteen years. It hurts my heart to let her go. This was the model truck I learned to drivein and both of my sons got there turn in this one.
I would drive this truck across the country todaywithout hesitation. She is ready forlots of new adventures.
1150 miles showing on New gages. The truck hadabout 140k on her before I redid the entire power train. She now has less than150k.
