Description
Purchased from the original owner in the mid-90's. This was Grandpa and Grandma's RV puller.
Grandpa died about 6 months ago (age 76), so Grandma finally decided to sell it.
Believe this truck came with most available options. This is a Ranger XLT model with the 460 V8, A/T, Factory A/C and positrack 3:73 differential. No rust that we can find other than surface rust, no cancer. Tires are in excellent condition. Believe they are 10ply for towing. Buyer to confirm. Belt is off A/C compressor. Believe it needs recharged. Everything seems to be in good working and running condition.
This truck is 39 years old and it has been extremely dependable. The engine was rebuilt once and the transmission was also rebuilt once. Has custom dual exhaust.
The exterior is straight, but has scratches and paint is faded. Small crease right behind driver's door and another dent on drivers side near end of bed. See photos. Other minor dents and dings.
Includes a 5th wheel hitch shown. Truck was used to haul a 29" 5th wheel. It is wired for a 5th wheel or camper and it also has a HD receiver hitch that is wired for a trailer. It also has a trailer brake controller. The longest journey was to California and most trips were to Cascade. Odometer shows 48,500, but we are sure it has turned over once and perhaps twice.
I do not know why these trucks book for so much. NADA shows that this truck has a High Retail of $15, 755 and an Average Retail of $8,698. The only add on values were for the 460 and factory air. We are starting at $8,000 and will consider all offers. Placing truck on eBay auction for sale also.
Interior is in good condition. Drivers seat has a small tear on the back of seat. Truck has the fold up jump seats in the passenger area.
The truck runs good and would not be afraid to take it on an extended trip. This is an ideal tow rig.
The whole family loves this old truck. It has hauled a lot of wood in it's prime. Can still pull steep hills with little effort and it sounds really good!
