What you see here for sale is a Rare Factory Dark Blue 2004 Ford F250 XLT 4 Door Crewcab 4 Wheel Drive with 7.3 Litre Power Stroke Diesel Motor and Automatic Transmission - with all the XLT Options - Electric Windows Cruise Control etc etc and its fitted with an Old Man Umu Lift Kit etc etc
Ibrought this car from a Auction House in Newcastle as a Statutory Writeoff - it supposelidly had some flood damage - and it cannot be registered again - it is good for An Off Road or Farm Truck, Export or Wrecking Purposes only sorry
Now if you look on the windscreen - its written on there little to no water in the cab - upon investigation - I lifted the mats up to have a look underneath and its dry as a bone - including the Computer.
But the Motor did have water in the oil when I checked the distick - but looking at the radiator reservoir it was empty - so I drained the engine oil - to find it had antifreeze water in the engine not flood water ?? So there has been a Mechanical Failure of some kind - I am not sure whats happened - but water is getting from the cooling system to the block - so its a terminal thing - Motor turns over fine with a big bar and socket - I have not tried to crank it with the starter - unfortunately the motors got to come out to recitfy whatevers happened to it internally -
(Note I have a mate who has a good 7.3 Litre Shortblock (needs one conrod) available for $1000)
So I went on and checked all the other components underneath the truck - including both diffs front and rear, the Transmission and the Transfer Case - and they all had no flood water in them either - all nice clean oil - so I think this truck has been mis-accessed as a flood damaged car when it should have simply been a mechnically damaged car - but its too late to argue that - its a stat write off now !!
It was a real nice clean truck prior to being written off probably worth around $50k-$55k mark - it has very nice straight panels with original paint - with only a couple of minor dents on the tub - but thats all I can fault - interior is immaculate - it has a flash aftermarket stereo system - and with the engine repaired - not no flood water anywhere that i could find and batteries all charged up - and if motor wasnt damaged I am sure you could drive it -if it wasnt a Stat Writeoff - I would be driving it next week !!!! This would make a great farm truck or off road racer or transplant donor etc etc -
Please note this Truck is a Stat Writeoff and is only good for Off Road, Farm, Export or Wrecking Purposes - it cannot be registered in Australia again !!! Please dont email me and ask me if you fix the motor can I get it registered in Tasmania - its on a National Writeoff Register for Good Unfortunately !!!
