Description
For sale is this very clean, reliable, luxurious and powerful 2005 MkII For Fairlane Ghia with the 5.4 litre v8 motor. The interior has the MkII upgrades with higher grade premium leather and a much nicer dash, instrument cluster, woodgrain and leather steering wheel and black piano finish to the console and control centre with 6 disc in dash cd changer etc. This is the best colour combination with the light biscuit leather trim and the silver mercury duco.
I bought this car for my father who is 70 next year. He decided that he did not want to drive much anymore and so I have been driving it since and I put the 19" staggered GMAX wheels on it for a bit of a younger look (these wheels are not sold with the car. It will come with the original wheels and virtually new rwc tyres - see last photo). The Fairlane had a RWC when I purchased it and some of the work done for that is set out below. A fair amount of money was spent on major service items to ensure that the Ford runs smoothly and reliably for many years to come. I am selling because I have too many cars and a motorcyle and I really don't need another rego to pay. It is a lovely car and I really enjoy driving it, especially with the smooth power it has on tap (the premium high performance coil packs make a big difference).
Car is sold without RWC, I simply don't have the time to run around and get one as I work long hours. If Victorian buyer, I will sell with rego, buyer will have to obtain own RWC within 28 days or Vicroads will cancel the rego. It should pass RWC again easily as it has done less than 1000kms since the last RWC.
Recent work for RWC includes full rear suspension bushes replaced with Super Roo after market bushes (this is a common issue on these and Ford Territories apparently)New Octane legal window tint (Tint a Car);
Transmission has had sun gears replaced in the past few months so no transmission whine, that is common with the BA transmissions.
New high performance ignition coils and motorcraft platinum plugs; New driver's side electric window motor.
The Fairlane also has an injected gas system (dual fuel) that is not operating properly. Everything is there, but it needs some servicing as it isn't running properly on gas. I now only run it on petrol. The tank and installation was done in 2008 so it won't need to be re-tested for another 4 years.
Vehicle is advertised elsewhere and may be removed prior to auction end.
