Description
So lets talk about this fine example of Detroit engineering you see on this page. I know everyone claims they have found their car in a barn, but I really did!!! Now granted it is not a barn-find in the sense that it was tucked away decades ago and left unattended, but more like it was freshened up close to ten years ago and parked in the barn. Only brought out to take the wife to Dairy Queen or to haul the kiddos to the 4th of July celebration in small town USA. What started out as a base Fairlane has been updated and freshened up to make it run great and look good too. The stock 289 and auto trans are gone, making way for mid-seventies 302 and a toploader 4-speed.
The car was painted almost about 7 years ago. It is not show quality paint or body work, but presents itself well and is driver quality. Floor pans and trunk area have patches installed by previous owner. Going through the stack off receipts this is what has been done to the car in the last 3000 miles:
4 new tires last month ( less than 50 miles on them )front end alignment March 2015clutch and pressure plate replaced January 2015front shocks, front coil springs, rear leaf springs February 2011wheel cylinders June 2010seats upholstered and carpet replaced motor rebuilt at 39,870 miles on the odometerAll there, does not appear to be missing anything. All lights and gauges workeven the AM radio comes on and sounds great. I just took the car on a 100 mile trip and it ran great with no issues. Glass is all intact, all windows go up and down like they should. The previous owner did do some amateur etching on the wing window glass, but these are easily replaced if you decide they are not to your liking.
This is solid car that runs down the road great and has awesome curb appeal.
