Description
Relisted :-( I Purchased this car to make it my dream, not to many XA falcons out there with factory K code Sunroof and Air conditioning. But due to health problems it must go to a new home.
What you are bidding on is a Factory K Code 7/72 Big Tag XA Ford Fairmont, Factory Options are as follows,
Engine : K (351 Cleveland)
Trans : B ( T/Bar Automatic)
Rear Axel : S
Paint: R (Copper Bronze)
Trim: P (Parchment)
Golde Sunroof
Select Air conditioning
It May have other options but i have never got around to having the ford verification letter.
This is how it left the factory, Over the last 43 years things have been changed on the vehicle. Here is how the vehicle stands at the moment,
351 Cleveland 2V on Duel Fuel (3.5" Stroke) Has been measured. JG37 Engine runs and drives but to how good it is I have no Idea. Standard exhaust headers with a dual exhaust system. Has Large 3 Car radiator and a home made aluminum fan shroud.
There are no Air conditioning parts in the engine bay other than the Factory Select Air block at the firewall.
Car is running a Top Loader, Shifter is very loose and needs a Kit put through it if you are going to keep it a Manual.
Rear differential is a Borg Warner.
For an XA this car is in good condition for rust. From the outside Plenum in the engine bay is super clean no rust bubbling at the join. Both Left and Right Tourque Boxes are clean no holes through them at all.
Bonnet has had aftermarket vents put in it and has rust in both corners.
Floors have no rust at all
It needs two bottoms on both front fenders. Rears of both sills need a small amount of work It does NOT need sill replacements.
All doors have rust on the lower sections, The inner of the doors are in good condition. You can purchase the repair panels from Rare Spares.
Gutter has a small bit rust starting in the lower section down down near the quarter panel this is in the photos the right side is great nothing at all.
There are a couple of small sections on the wheel arches but I am talking small patch not a whole new wheel arch.
Left hand rear Lower Quarter panel will need both inner and Outer And right hand is no were near as bad but if you are doing one id be doing both.
Boot floor is great no rust on the floor or around the bumper brackets.
Boot rubber channel as you can see buy the photos they will require some work. It is mainly in the top two sections just below the window, good part is it is below the window and the factory tabs that hold the window rubber is place are still in good condition which leads me to believe that it wont be too bad under the window rubbers.
Boot is super clean inside but has some bubbles starting on the lower section under the lock.
Also Both rear taillights are faded.I have one good one for it you will just have to find another
Golde Sunroof is complete with inside cover. It does open and close with some persuasion as what normally happens with these the gear gets worn and the cables stretch. when I got the car transported after purchase someone taped the sunroof gap up with fibre tape and it pulled the colour off were the tape was back to primer.
Interior
Dash is cracked in a few places, Has a GS Dash in the car, Don't know if this was factory or not but it does have the reverse XA type gauges 6K Tacho which is weird but 140 MPH speedo.
The Floor bulge is missing but the screws are there. Console is in ok condition but needs a top.
Door trims are in great condition but that are in saddle not Parchment
All seats will need a complete recover drivers is the worst as the rest of the car had seat covers over them except for the drivers one.
No front carpet at all and rear carpet is stuffed.
It Has all the chrome window moulds including the center ones for the pillars and they are all in good condition. It also has Left and Right Mirrors. Rear boot mould is gone.
There is a GS/GT Grille on the car as well.
Wheels and tyres are in great condition with nearly brand new Bridgstone Eagers on them. Right hand front rotor has a wheel stud broken off, (prior to me owning but I do have the wheel nut for it.
