For sale is my Mk 2 2 door rally car. I built this car from a very good condition shell in the late 90's in order to compete in the NSW and ACT Rally Series. It has been lots of fun to drive and competitive, but I have now moved on. It has a valid CAMS logbook and the current body has done 7 rallies.
This Escort has got lots of good bits and is an ideal starting point to get into rallying, or other forms of motorsport. Selling way below replacement cost with many rare go-fast escort race parts.
The car last competed in the 2011 NATCAP rally in Canberra where it finished first in class.
The engine currently fitted is a fully worked 11:1 compression race motor and is not included in the current auction, however can be made available by negotiation if reqiured. The car currently for auction comes comes with at least 2 (I think 3) spare 2lt motors. I have been told one of them is a running motor but I have not checked personally. The second is the motor from the blue car pictured, however has been stored in the open and will either need a complete rebuild or may be good for the head and cam. The third motor (if I still have it - havent checked in a while) is a smokey stocker and has also been stored in the open and will need a full rebuilt or use for parts. All parts currently bolted to the motor are not included in the current auction - i.e. radiator, oil cooler, carbs, altinator, starter, clutch etc. Extractors and exhaust go with the car but exhaust is in pretty average condition from being rallied.

Neat Rod Kilby roll cage - 7 point cage including diagnal on main hoop, intrusion bars and a harness bar
Seam welded, Rally electrical loom and guages, fuel line runs in cabin. Race bucket seats and 4 point harnesses (one should probably be replaced) Gearbox:
Quaife close ratio ‘Rocket Box’. Straight cut gears, syncro engagement (needs rebuild/syncros are very average)

This will include a couple of minor electrical things (horn/indicators/park/headlights/new battery) as well as fitment of your own intercom and tripmeter.
