Description
Up for sale is my 1978 ford f100. ($15,500)
I was building this truck to be my daily driver / 4wd / tow vehicle.
I work away a lot so i am selling it and going to buy a 79 series Landcruiser troopy so i can sleep in it when I'm away.
Since owning the truck, i have spent plenty of cash building it to be a reliable truck so i can have NO worrys when driving it. ( all thats left to do is paint)
* Fitted new starter motor
* Fitted new alternator
* Fitted new belt
* Fitted new batteries (duel battery system)
* Had the wiring for tail lights, trailer plug and number plate lights professionally done and eliminated all "extra wires" that had made there way into the car over the years..
* Fitted new Hankook tyres, (33x12.5x15)
* Fitted new rims (15x8 king rims)
* Fitted all new "rough country" suspension ( coils, leafs, shocks, brackets )
* Built a new tray and fitted new tail lights, number plat lights and tool boxes.
* Had all the brake lines professionally replaced.
* Had a new exhaust fitted (nice and quiet when cruising, but still v8 sounds when on the gas)
* Built new front seat rails and fitted new seats.
* Fitted new front door seals.
* Fitted new fuel pump. (in engine bay for easy access instead of under tray like normal)
* New steering wheel (much nicer then the original one)
* Put a good LED internal light, Activated off drivers door opening and closing.
* Got the old tints taken off so the windows are clear.
"Basic info"
* Its a ex Army vehicle ( i was told of the 82 year old man that owned it before me )
* It is a 3 door, 5 seated vehicle. (registered to seat 6)
* Its 4wd, with front and rear solid axles (not i beams)
* It has a ford 302 motor, 4 speed manual.
"FULL SPECIFICATIONS"
* 1978 ford f100, 3 door, 4wd. (normal LWB chassis)
* 302 motor, 4 speed manual, Holly carburettor.
* POWER STEERING
* Lift kit is a 4 inch "rough country" kit. (good up to 37 inch tyres) (i was going to use 35inch)
* 33x12.5x15 Hankook Mt tyres
* 15x8 neg22 "king" steelies. black.
* Steel tray (2050mm wide X 1800mm long) (pokes about 20mm past cab each side, and inline with tow ball on back)
* "Hayman reese" Heavy duty tow bar.
* It has solid front and rear diffs (rear diff is braced)
* Front has original lights and a "big red" 22inch LED light bar on it, provides great light. (good quality light bar, not a Ebay special)
* Rear has "Narva" LED tail lights and number plate light.
* Duel battery system.
* UHF 2 way radio.
* I have made custom seat rails for the front to mount 2005 ford XR8 bucket seats (very comfy seats). I chose to use bucket seats in the front for the comfort and support of modern seats.
* The back seat is a original f100 bench seat with a new sheep skin cover. Comfortable seat and with the drivers seats set up for me (I'm 6'1) i can have my 6'2 mates in the back with plenty of leg room.
"Issues"
* crack in windscreen, (passenger side) (i was going to replace it when i painted it)
* back seat only has centre seat belt, (need the side ones) (buy off ebay or any wreckers)
* Needs the dash piece that surrounds glove box/cd player as its cracked. (I'm waiting for a good one to come up, i don't want another average one)
* Back driver side window slides out of rail when winding up or down (have to hold it when you wind it up and down)
* Engine is due for a tune, or new plugs and leads. (it drives and idles fine when warm, just not perfect)
* The truck doesn't have a choke (not sure if its meant to). takes a couple of mins to warm up. (like normal)
I got the truck to this stage, done all the small things to make it nice and reliable.
Next i was going to pull it all apart, get it all painted then put it all back together, put 35inch tyres on and have a mint condition 3 door F truck. I have chose to not paint it, as i will paint it a colour and the buyer will want a different colour. So I'm selling it unpainted (not professionally painted) so the new buyer can choose the colour and get it done. (if i spent 5k on paint, price would go up 5k for no reason if they repaint it)
All it needs is some fresh paint and it will be a beautiful one of a kind reliable truck.
I regularly drive it to newcastle and sydney, drives at 110kms fine (about 3200rpm)
$15,500 ONO (cash on pick up or bank deposit)
Im open to REASONABLE offers.
NO, I DONT WANT TO SWAP. (I WANT TO BUY A 79 SERIES TROOPY)
Located Morisset, NSW, 2264. (yes, i can help with transport)
