Description

Sit back guys as I tell you a tale
Recovered from the hands of an unappreciative owner, I have taken five meticulous and expensive years to restore this once unloved nunber into a comparatively awesome package. Having gone through the best years of my life and taken me across the state upon many an adventure, it is time for me to pass this tribute to a now-dying motoring company onto somebody who could perhaps continue her on her way towards gracing the streets of Newcastle, and possibly beyond its borders.
This car is a genuine certified Option 24 "Police Pack" AU Ford Falcon Forte (ex Ambulance Service), stamped on the VIN for the world to see. Those who know their Fords know that this saw the removal of a redline and speed limiter, open gated transmission and LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL as standard. Unfortunately, the renowned "adjustable speedo cluster" had to be replaced with a standard setup with comparable kilometers (very lucky to find it). But trust me, a LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL isn't one often found on this base model.
You can probably tell from the pictures that this doesn't quite look like a Forte. Well, I picked it up with the bodykit and window tint installed, all I did was tidy it up a bit. Trust me, I've tried to keep it as true to the original stylings, replacing many of the series 1 parts with series 3 numbers (tailights, clear indicators, colour matched door trims & mirror scalps). Sexy, ain't it? Oh, and you can probably tell from the pictures that I've left some tasteful souveniers which really add to it's character. This inclues a Jolly Rodger Skull and crossbones sticker, a custom tribute to the SAS/TV Show (Who Dares Wins sticker) and mathcing front and rear white seat covers (better give it a clean through if you want to keep them)
The LPG Conversion is all certified, carried out in 2007 by the previous owner. It's all stamped appropriately in the engine bay for you to observe, and trust me, the 400km tank range for highway driving is definately a benefit given the reputation of these things as gas guzzlers. Highway driving has defined the might of this gal's life, a regular prescence upon the F3 for work and pleasure. Seriously, I've just written this ad after a round trip to Chatswood from Newcastle, with no problems whatsoever :)
This engine is a ROCK. All original (save for the LPG conversion), this beauty has carried me across many of NSW's major highways, north and south. The oil has been replaced every 10000km since I took ownership, using only the finest synthetic oils money can buy. I've taken care to ensure that the engine remains as stock and as strong as possible, with the 280000km on the clock a mere snapshot of things to come :) Only mods I made to this was the installation of Low King Springs to give it a little more stance, with an ADJUSTABLE NOLATHANE CAMBER KIT to fix up the steering setup.
Other things I will point out is the addition of some daytime running lights (toggle switch activated), a voltmeter and cooling temp gauge, and a TOWBAR (that's right, a TOWBAR!!!!)
For her age, don't expect a perfect ride. She is ageing a little, and there are a couple of things I will point out for her new owner to consider fixing up, not merely for rego but for ease of mind.
The roof fabric has been tacked up, a temporary fix restorable by only the most basic of upholsters.
The paint isn't perfect (isn't meant to be, and there are a couple of dings here and there, but overall it's in relatively fine shape.
One of the tyres has seen better days, but nowadays a 235/45 R17 is an easy find.
The ball joints will probably need replacement, a job I have neither the patience or tools to carry out myself.
The front rack had a boot torn on a kerb thanks to an ipod distracted pedestrian, that will need addressing for rego (possibly another rack, but hey that ain't too hard).
A rather careless apprentice miswelded a replacement exhaust pipe at the rear, so she will rattle at idle. Never bothered me, so I left it there (gives the impression the world is ending, really something you want in a throaty beast's roar).
Three speakers only work in this car, so if you are a music buff you may need to address this (its fine for easy listening as is)
So there you have it guys :) A fine specimen of Australian automotive engineering, well placed to trade hands with those of perhaps a young apprentice mechanic looking for a beasty fix-upperer, a gentleman with a mid life crisis, or perhaps somebody who is after something a little different in their lives. She has enough rego until the 3rd August to take you wherever you may please, but I won't be providing a roadworthy for the simple reason that I've spent that money on a deposit for a bland, less exciting fuel efficient ecobox. If you've got a couple of days and a decent wrench (or you can offload a couple of slabs to a decent mate), than this thing will be yours to enjoy as much as I have for the past five years :) It will come with only one key and remote (all I ever received with it). You may also elect to receive a couple of extra parts, such as a pair of Altezza taillights and a full set of Super Low King springs I uninstalled because they were crap.
So now down to business. Because I don't trust the internet, I will require payment either on delivery or upon approved transfer into a bank account of my choosing. NO PAYPAL!!! Pretty much request payment ASAP as I'm taking delivery of my new ride in four days. While the auction is running, I'm happy to answer questions via this website or email, although inspection opportunites may be lacking as I'll be working during the next three days. Oh and I've grown pretty in tune towards scammers and time wasters over the years, you try and pull that crap on me and eBay have mercy on your feedback score :)
IF YOU LIKE WHAT YOU SEE, ONLY BID IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT IT.IT WILL DRIVE AWAY, IT WILL HAVE THE PROPER REGO PAPERWORK WITH IT, BUT IT COMES AS IS - AWESOME :)
