RARE MANUAL AUIII XR8 220!
Up for sale is our loved 2001 AUIII Ford Falcon XR8 220 five-speed manual.
It shows 208,195km and has recently had a thorough service. Roadworthy can be negotiated for buy it now price.
Featuring the last of the ‘Windsor’ 5.0-litre motors, this 220kW Tickford-developed machine features additional performance enhancements guaranteed to impress the Ford V8 enthusiast.
Under-bonnet upgrades include Pacemaker extractors into a full three-inch exhaust system (sounds awesome, but you can still hold a good conversation at a cruise), MSD ignition and SS Induction system.There’s also a heavy-duty clutch, and the car was fitted with the Tickford Momo steering wheel from the factory, as per the Tickford build plate.
Twin airbags and ABS add safety, and power windows and cruise control provide convenience.Of course, boot and interior space are both plentiful, the Falcon a pleasure to cover long distances in, especially with its cool air-conditioning system.
We also added a heavy-duty 2300kg Hayman Reece towbar under a year ago, and the Tickford body-kit and alloy wheel package remain standard.In the interests of a balanced description, the aftermarket window tint has bubbled over time, and the aerial for the aftermarket head unit (with CD player) is missing; you still have radio reception, though it can be patchy. The red paintwork has faded over 15 years in parts, with the some minor stone chips evident.
All in all this increasingly-rare manual XR8 220– from a time when Ford Australia was still humming –is an appreciating classic and will provide the new owner with years of entertainment.Registered until 30 November 2015, please get in touch to discuss further. Email/eBay contact is preferred.
