1987 Ford Laser KE Series 2 TX3 Turbo AWD / 4WD - Modified Unfinished Project

You are looking at a 1987 KE Series 2 TX3 Turbo AWD in excellentcondition. Dual overhead cam 16 valve 1.6ltr engine. 99.99% complete(lights, grill, guards, bolts etc. all there, everything in excellent condition). Clean title, nevercrashed etc. Can provide VIN just couldn't get it when listing. Awesome project, most of the hard work done, engine just needs attention. Unfinished dream, very regretful sale!
Nothing missing for whole car to be assembled except for rear window strip clips (always break when removing) and passenger centre console kick panel.
No Swaps, Paypal not accepted! Last time listed before going into storage
The good:
- Full time 4WD!
- Recently resprayed white with subtle purple ghost pearl, not yet buffed and polished (marks on bonnet are dirt from car cover rubbing)(bumpers and a few plastic strips need paint and put on).
- Extremely straight car.
- No rust in body.
- Very clean interior (no cracks in dash), seats and interior plastics very good.
- 238,846kms. (as far as I know it's the original engine).
- Engine has no oil or water leaks.
- 5 speed manual.
- Good gearbox.
- Mag wheels with good tires (or original wheels with Bridgestones).
- Suraru VF10 hybrid Turbo (much bigger than stock, air flow meter has larger adapter plate to suit).
- Mazda Familia electric windows (Telstar switches in centre console).
- Chipped Aus spec ECU (allowing more than 12pci boost).
- Trust front mount intercooler (all silicon joins)(air con removed).
- Pod filter.
- External blow off valve on polished alloy piping.
- KF Turbo dump pipe and wastegate (looks like it's been bored larger).
- 2.5inch exhaust, pretty loud (gay twin dump tips from previous owner).
- Turbosmart manual boost 'T'.
- Topgun leads.
- Boost guage.
- Clear indicator lenses.
- 4 wheel disc brakes, slotted front rotors.
- Near new waterpump and timing belt.
- Good windscreen.
- All locks matching.
- Front and rear lights + garnish excellent ('Fulltime 4WD' sticker in tact).
- Good carpet.
- New dash mat.
- Good spare tire.
- Good rear wings (trouble spot for rust etc.).
- Replacement VF10 Turbo, not installed (hard to find, sourced from NZ).
- Whiteline front alloy strutbrace (brand new never installed).
- LED indicator globes and circuit capacitor (not installed).
- Full set of superlow King springs (yellow, not installed)

The bad:
- Low compression in piston 1 and oil slightly bypassing into catch can. (most likely piston rings, I'm not a mechanic). - Did not want to start when last tried (fuel is 3+ years old). Was starting weekly first time everytime before this and drove fine when I took it for a short drive up my street.
- Turbo oil seal in the current turbo is gone so the car blows constant smoke literally like a smoke machine from oil leaking straight into exhaust side of turbo. (didn't do this before I stupidly degreased the inside of the turbo core (comes with another good replacement VF10 (had to get from NZ).
No time to try to get it going again.
Buyer may be able to get it started to drive onto trailer otherwise I can assist in loading.
Everything is there to complete assembly, just needs front and rear bumpers, lights and grill and plastic strips put back on.
Buyer may wishto buy new bumpers as I was planning on filling the chanel where the redstrip goes and have thrown away the red strips themselves as well as butchering around the chanel a bit (bumpersstill included, striped to bare plastic). Roof and bonnetcould use a cut back and respray of clear as it has some lines. Comeswith headlights, grill (painted), indicators, front lower guard and all clips/bolts/screws all excellent condtion.Also comes with 3+ litres of spare white paint, a bit of clear and a heap of purple ghost pearl powder.
Just needs assembly finished and the engine freshened up and will be a super quick tidy little rocket. I've owned it for over 3 years and never got to drive it properly, very regretful sale!
I need to sell 2 cars as I will bemoving to a place with limited parking and storage. I have also just started post-grad uni and no longer have time to complete thiscar. Recently purchased a new car also. I will consider reasonable offers.
